Reciprocity between states makes that hill a bit harder to climb.
If reciprocity is the law of the land, why are blue states allowed to block your 2nd Amendment rights? Under this theory; if you state has constitutional carry, you should have it in every state.
Reciprocity may force Missouri to recognize same sex unions (I won’t use the word marriage for these) formed in other states but it doesn’t require performing them in state. The first step is not forcing states to perform them.

Now we can use that as a bludgeon against the left by demanding that a carry permit (or no permit at all) issued in one state is valid in every state.
Why? It wasn't a problem pre-Obergfell. Gay marriage could be struck down all together. It depends on the case challenging it and the court's decision.
