There is nothing written constraining them to any schedule. Due to the federal holiday Monday the Court released opinions Tuesday and Thursday (a one day delay), but raised eyebrows yesterday by amending the schedule yesterday to say that today (Friday) was an opinion day- and they dropped Becerra and Dobbs today.
But again, there is no written precedent or procedure saying they only release opinions on Mondays and Wednesdays. It's just tradition, and not absolute.
The Court does what the Court does, generally without advance notice. That is itself a tradition...

They added today as an extra day. Drop this on a Friday and get out of dodge. Can’t blame them.

(If there's a question mark in the headline, the answer should always be No.)

I thought they only released opinions/rulings of Monday and Wednesday? Usually, yes, but there's no requirement. They obviously released this one on Friday to escape the news cycle, so nobody would be talking about it.
Yes, I'm kidding. I suspect the justices (if they're smart) have used the time to increase security on their homes. The shriekers will be out in force. I have occasion to enter a somewhat liberal town today and I fully expect the Handmaiden cosplayers to be in full view. They've had plenty of time to prepare.
