Too bad only one side is.

Nope. This is quite common. The DA has lots of cases to file. The person is cited in on what some courts refer to as the “No complaint calendar.” Sometimes, as happened here, there is still no complaint on file as of the time of the first appearance. Now charges have been filed. Completely routine handling by the DA so far, that I can tell

He should just go public and apologize. Then he should say, “I made a mistake. Learn from my mistake and do NOT drive drunk”. Everyone would applaud his courage and maybe someone would learn a lesson from his mistake. You're joking? DUI causing injury? They cage thousands of people every year for being legally drunk, and causing injury, just like this guy.
An apology is not enough.

The news media would have been interviewing the victim right away but nothing about him other then his name is Jesus.

All the reports I have seen said the crash was without injuries. That is why I am confused about his being charged with a crash causing injury.

From a lawyer that does DUI work in the area: What are my chances of having my DUI charges reduced or dropped in Napa County? The Napa County District Attorney's office is known for aggressively prosecuting DUI offenders, even if you were driving below the legal limit of .08 BAC. Many locals and tourists who were out for a day of casual wine-tasting are picked up at DUI checkpoints even though they are not over the legal limit. To successfully fight these charges, you need an attorney who understands how the local court system works, has strong negotiating skills, and a successful track record bringing cases to trial. What are the best legal defenses to avoid a drunk driving conviction in Napa County? There are several potential defense strategies that can be used to get your DUI charges reduced or dismissed. These include: Constitutional challenges to the enforcement stop or arrest (e.g., lack of probable cause, failure to Mirandize, etc.). Misleading statements by the arresting officer. Taking a blood sample without a search warrant or lawful consent. Unreliable breathalyzer test. Unreliable field sobriety test. Failure to continuously observe the driver for 15 minutes before the breath test. Your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was on the rise at the time you were pulled over for DUI. https://www.napadui.com/dui-faqs-napa-valley

No way will he do jail or prison time. Instead the prosecution will let him pay a fine and have probation. The rich and/or politically powerful are a “higher” caste in this country.

If this was just a simple DUI case, he would have gotten a ride home from the police and nothing would have been reported.
They couldn’t treat it that way because the incident involved a crash with another motorist. So now you have EMTs and hospital staff in the mix to complicate things, along with (most important of all) an insurance company involved in handling and paying claims.

Yes, really.
As I recall, and I may be mistaken, it was another suicide.

If this was just a simple DUI case, he would have gotten a ride home from the police and nothing would have been reported. Ditto, except for people like you and me. As you suggest, crashing his Porsche with injuries is too much to ignore/hide these days.
