Don’t know about the 90% number, but as I see it - if Russia will sell China resources for reasonable prices, why risk a war? You see, unlike the Neocons, China fully understands the risks of going to war against a very well armed nuclear power.
As to ‘growing space’ or whatever Hitler called it back then, Chinese people will not want to go to Siberia to live, given its terrible climate - people will only go there for business, for extraction of resources, and that is already the case.
Right now, small gain for China in trying to take Russian land, HUGE risk. So, not going to happen unless the West does what’s necessary to bring Russia back to its side - if that happens, then all bets are off with China.

Actually, now is a great time for China to attack Russia
Russia’s military has been proven to be really inferior, they already lost a lot of crucial hardware and used up a lot of their high-tech weapons in Ukraine, Russia is under sanctions so they can’t upgrade right away, and they’re bogged down in the border area of Ukraine in a conflict they can’t seem to finish ...
so if China attacks now, suddenly we got the dreaded “two-front-war” ... which no country (except maybe the US) can survive
Not happening, but no harm in hoping it will happen...not much left to hope for, after all.

This could be sort of ,call it a discreet war, keep in mind we got things blowing up in Russia, A chemical plant and a place where they make their top secret weapons, things blowing up and catching fire in the US, and now things in China.
Look! It’s a Chinese fire drill! But for reals. The air over Shanghai - Shenzhen is gonna stink. There is a small chance that this massive petro fire comes from the anti- Covid lockdowns faction in China.
