With all due respect to Trump, I’d rather hear how we should address great issues such as inflation, foreign policy, and the border, rather than attacking (deserving or not) on a personal level. Be presidential, have gravitas and leave the petty stuff alone. Critisizing Trump is not anti-Trump. Flame suit on.
My otherwise smart friend is a Dem and points to Liz: “See, even Republicans hate Trump.”

What you seem to be saying is that you want to see W’s “presidential” approach to the vicious attacks, lies and smears against him. At one time, I would have agreed with you, but we are in new political territory now after what was attempted against Trump before and after the 2016 election. We are talking about a person twice impeached, hoax investigations, contemplating wiring people closest to him to set him up for a Mueller take-down, Nancy Pelosi ripping up his SOTU on live tv, 81 million ballots? etc etc etc and we expect him to “play nice”?
Until the GOP bench steps up and gives relentless attack 24/7 against the demonkraps and define them as the communists and enemies of the US freedoms that they are, Trump has no reason to try to follow W’s ineffective standard. Trump stands up and fights for himself and this country. W said history would be the judge of him ... and it is worse for him than he imagined.
Until the GOP as a party bench steps up and carries this water for Trump, .... just like all the demonkraps do for their “leaders” with their trash, demonize, lie, call Trump a racist, etc etc . . .as long as he is out in public, candidate or not for 2024, Trump needs to be Trump.

Not at all. W played nice and did nothing. T did tremendous things. The way T can counter the all out coup against him is to focus on the things we need. For example, T doesn’t have to endlessly focus on the election. He can simply say it was fraudulent and we can’t let it happen again and say what steps can be taken to prevent a repeat. My concern is that if he is the nominee, he must stand above and be wise or risk lack of support. Focusing on personalities will hurt him.
She’s serving on an illegally constituted committee under House rules that has no Republican appointed members (even though she and Kinzinger are Republicans, they were both appointed by Pelosi to be on the Dem side, and Pelosi denied Republican appointees a seat), serving on a committee chaired by an election denier who voted to block certification of the Electors in the 2004 election, believing Bush/Cheney stole the election from Kerry/Edwards - that would be her very own father. Hardly a “beacon for Democracy”
Liz is one of the biggest neocons left in the party. There are others like Graham. These people shill for the military vendors. Our swamp will do anything to keep them in power. Buttigieg is an example of a democrat version. They are military shills first and party members second.
