I remember hearing in March 2020 that things were gonna be shut down for a week or two and being totally freaked out. I’m not a financial/economy genius, but I can figure out the basics...that not working and spending $s you don’t have is not going to work out well. It doesn’t work well on the individual scale and it doesn’t work well for countries.

It was back in April of 2020. Everything was shut down. The playgrounds were all closed. The zoo was closed. The Children’s Museum was closed. And I had a four year old who couldn’t understand why all her favorite places were closed.

Then I came across an article, maybe it was posted here, maybe it was in Fortune, Forbes or some other financial publication. An economist wrote we had until the end of May 2020 to do lockdowns. After that we had to open up even if we got sick, otherwise we would kill the economy.

It looks like he was right. I never was able to find the article again.

This is what happens when government does something hideously stupid like locking down healthy people. The only solution is to shutter the vast majority of government. Government has lost all credibility. They need to be completely separated from anything healthcare related. My doctor and I can make our own decisions. Some low-IQ lazy ass, power hungry government employee has zero idea what is good for me, you or this nation. They have proved this time and time again.

“The cause should be clear: this was all kicked off by the most egregious, arrogant, irresponsible, foolhardy, and brutal policies ever perpetrated on the whole of American life, all in the name of disease control. I’ve yet to see evidence that any of the people and agencies who did this to us are willing to reassess their decisions. Quite the contrary.
There must be a reckoning. It was not the poor, the working classes, or the person on the street who did this. These policies were not an act of nature. They were never even voted upon by legislatures. They were imposed by men and women with unchecked administrative power under the mistaken belief that they had it all under control. They never did and they do not now.”

IMHO it was done to win an election, at all costs, including human life. Weaponized diseased released, infected people placed on airplanes, and economic events, for the sole purpose of having “drop boxes” to rig an election. Like 2008, when Oil futures spiked and there was a ‘run on the market’, the circumstances needed for a liberal to enter office result in destruction of American economy and peoples well being. This is the third time, the first event occurred in 1992 with a ‘property crash’ in the northeast. Once is happenstance, twice is circumstance, third is enemy action.

I’m old enough to remember the heat Trump took from democrats, the media, and the Branch Covidians when he said, “the cure cannot be worse than the disease,” concerning shutdowns.

Welp.

Captain Obvious.

Seems most pundits and Dems are fully ignoring the obvious. I.E., this disease wasn’t worth the breakdown the hysterical reaction to it caused.

The lockdown was ordered so as to destroy the economy that Trump had built up. The misery would be blamed on Trump and he would be denied reelection.

The current economic disaster was foreseen and intended. It serves as a smoke screen so we will happily accept government taking away our rights to “keep us safe” “feed us” or whatever.

(American’s capacity for denial is truly a thing to behold)

Same country that put their faith in a guy with exactly two accomplishments as a U.S. Senator:

1) Relief funds for The Democratic Republic of the Congo

2) Named a post office

To quote the great philosopher, Ringo Starr: “everything the government touches turns to shit.“

However, in this case, it isn’t something that was done accidentally by people who had the best of intentions and just didn’t know what they were doing. That was for normal times. This was done on purpose, because for them the times were anything but normal; Trump was running for reelection, and was very popular. The only way for the power-hungry Deep State to stop him was to destroy the great economy that he had created. It also served the goals of conditioning people to listen to authority, making more people dependent upon government and allowing the tools of repression (governmental and private) to be further developed and refined.

If you think things are bad now, just wait. Not just economically, but in terms of our personal freedoms.

"Politics is good fun for many people, a real sport and a good distraction from real life. But politics becomes a very serious business once personal finance makes the good life ever less viable."

Key phrase

Or, as TV sometimes reflects life:

"Let me tell you something about Humans, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes."

Roots?

It was the bloody purpose.

Aside allowing rampant ballot fraud, it killed small businesses. SB is mostly operated by conservatives — since only they can weigh risk vs gain. Liberals are crap at that as they have spent their entire lives being parasites.
