China will "fight to the very end" to stop Taiwanese independence, the country's defence minister vowed Sunday, stoking already soaring tensions with the United States over the island.
The superpowers are locked in a growing war of words over the self-ruled, democratic island, which Beijing views as part of its territory awaiting reunification.
Frequent Chinese aerial incursions near Taiwan have raised the diplomatic temperature, and on Saturday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin accused Beijing of "destabilising" military activity in a speech to the Shangri-La Dialogue security summit.
Defence Minister Wei Fenghe hit back in a fiery address at the same event, saying Beijing had "no choice" but to fight if attempts are made to separate Taiwan from China.

Taiwan is independent. It is China - the only remaining territory not overrun by the Communist usurpers. The CCP did conquer the China mainland - they believe the remaining territory they did not successfully takeover just belongs to them by default because it was part of China.
China will not risk being targeted by nuclear weapons against their mainland. China risks devastating loses of prestige and inhabital adjacent territory. Taiwan probably has enough nuclear capability to ruin 25 major cities.
Having them and having the will to use them are two different things

Just bring Joe Biden and his handlers (Obama/Jarrett/Rice et.al.). Make them the leaders. Within 4 years the island will be rubble.

I thought of that, too. Taiwan had tested their real nuclear warhead long time ago. U.S. only told them to stop their nuclear program, but I don't think they really stopped. With erratic political climate in U.S. like what happen to Vietnam, they know damn well U.S. can't protect them if ultra far leftists pro Chicom democrats would side for the communists. Of course the communists know Taiwan has at least nuclear weapons maybe distributed at several Taiwanese islands.
