Marjorie Taylor Greene: Childhood incident with school gunman shaped her Second Amendment stance

"It was one of the scariest days of my life, and it happened to be when Joe Biden turned America's schools into gun free school zones," Greene recalled during an interview this week with the Just the News, Not Noise television show. "It was in 1990. I was 16 years old, and one morning one of our schoolmates brought guns to school in a duffel bag on the school bus, saying it was like a school project, brought them into his first-period class and he took over our entire school with guns."

"And the reason why he was able to do that is we had no good guy with a gun in our school. Our principal, we didn't have a resource officer, we had no one," she added. And so all of our classes went on lockdown and the only thing we knew is that there was another student on the loose with guns and all of our lives were in danger. And that really, really set in to me and many of my friends that we learned a really very important lesson that day," she added.

Greene continued, saying, "You never want to be at the mercy of a madman with a gun. You always want to be able to protect yourself and protect others and that's what I walked away from my school that day knowing."

Greene said she's been "fighting really hard" against the Democrats' gun control legislation because she believes it won't make anyone safer.

"Every single door has men or women armed with guns, the very same guns that they want to take away from Americans," she said. "And so I was telling everyone there, I was like, this is the biggest hypocrisy. The House of Representatives really is nothing but a House of hypocrisy

Is she telling a Bidenesque tall-tale? Or is it true?

If this were coming from Lauren Boebert, I’d definitely and unhesitatingly believe her.

It has occurred to me that for the liberals, the means of making schools safe is more important than actually making them safe. They doggedly refuse to entertain any means other than disarming honest citizens.

40 years ago I was chased all over Manhattan by this gang of punks that tried to kill me because I supposedly tried to pick up one of their girlfriends (I didn’t, all I did it look at her). The bitch went to her boyfriend and claimed that, I assume she just wanted attention.

This happened in a McDonalds parking lot BTW. I saw her pointing at me and they walked up to my car and said some words and started breaking my car, my attenae, wipers, smashed the side window, demanded I get out of the car and swiped a knife at me and cut my shoulder, so I backed out fast and gave them the finger - big mistake. I was one guy they were about 6 and I drove off thinking I escaped till I got to a traffic light and oh my! They had a car too and jumped out with knives and a tire iron and I took off again, this went on and on, got stuck in traffic and they tried to stab my tires one guy tried to climb through the broken window in the back and stab me.

Guess what was going through my mind the entire time? Where is a cop? Nope. What was going through my mind was I WISH I HAD A GUN! I WISH I HAD A DAMN GUN! People have NO idea how easily their life can end when they have no means of self defense. If I crashed my car, and they caught me, without question they would have killed me. When I saw the murder of Lesandro Feliz decades later it absolutely reminded me of what had happened. These feral punks are all over NYC especially now, and all these citizens are absolutely defenseless.

2nd amendment unconstitutional infringement doesn’t save lives. It does the opposite: It gets people killed by removing their constitutional God given right to self defense.

I’m wondering if the school went into lockdown just because he brought the guns in for his school project?

Thanks for the link to the AP story. It's a far cry from what happened in Uvalde:
10th- grader Randy Addis, carried a small duffel bag holding three weapons into the school, pulled out a rifle in Don Hutchins’ civics class and fired it over the students’ heads.

Johnny Tallant, who was teaching in the next room, struggled with Addis and got the rifle away from him, but not before another shot was fired, the sheriff said. Addis then ran, Hutchins tackled him and the youth pulled a shotgun from his bag, he said.

Most of the students were released gradually during the morning, including all the girls but one, who chose to stay because she knew Addis, he said.

A TEACHER ran to the sound of the gunfire and tackled the kid. Too bad they weren't able to get his bag with the other weapons away from him. Then a BRAVE GIRL stayed with the kid because she knew him. Lots of bravery that day all around.

And she's just had the great good sense to hire Milo Yiannopoulos as her intern. I'm delighted to see Milo back in public.
