Uvalde Mom Who Saved Her Children Says She's Being Threatened By Law Enforcement ["officers were more aggressive with parents than with the active shooter"]

The brave Uvalde mom who rescued her two sons from Robb Elementary School during the devastating shooting that killed 19 students and 2 adults is speaking up about being threatened by law enforcement.

Angeli Rose Gomez told CBS News that she was informed that if she continues to talk to media about her fearless actions, she would be charged with a probation violation for obstruction of justice.

Gomez did not identify the member of law enforcement who called her. As soon as she heard that there was an active shooter at Robb Elementary, she drove around “100 miles per hour,” she told CBS News, to save her children.

“Right away, as I parked, a US Marshal started coming toward my car, saying that I wasn’t allowed to be parked there,” she explained. “And he said, ‘Well, we’re gonna have to arrest you because you’re being very uncooperative.’

Gomez then criticized how officers were responding to the situation. “Y’all are standing with snipers and y’all are far away, I got to go in there,” Gomez stated. Shortly after, she was “immediately placed in cuffs.” As soon as the handcuffs were removed, she immediately jumped a fence and sprinted into the school.

Gomez also explained that officers were more aggressive with parents than with the active shooter. Eventually, she received a call from a judge commending her actions, which made her feel more comfortable to speak up about what happened. Gomez became teary-eyed when discussing how the decision police made to stall cost innocent children their lives.

Did he say something that isn’t now common knowledge?

Texas DPS’ initial press releases from their investigation have said exactly that. The incident commander on scene (Uvalde CISD) decided it was a barricaded suspect situation and forbade any officer from going in, even though gunshots were still being heard on 911 calls from the classroom *for more than 20 minutes*. One presumes the officers outside the classroom were also hearing the shots, but since we don’t have their statements yet I suppose it is possible they somehow didn’t hear an unsupressed long barrel AR pattern rifle firing full power 5.56mmx45mm rounds.

Again - the local police are on public record as the incident commander making that ‘mistake’, they are on public record as not going in on orders, they are on public record as stopping parents from going in unless the parent was LEO (statements of an off-duty Border Patrol agent who got his kid out using his badge but was then barred from returning or assisting.)
All of this is public record. None of this is speculation. Most of it is from police statements.

I got you. Sure why were they not allowing parents to go into a hostile building?

That’s my question

For not letting the parents into a hostile building?

That makes no sense to me parents shouldn’t go into a building where there’s a active shooting situation going on.

The issue is that the cops weren’t doing anything in an active shooter situation but letting the kids die. If they’re not going to save lives, why the hell are they stopping other people from doing it? Also, at the time this happened, the cops *knew* the shooter was confined to one classroom. Again, all backed up by items on the public record.

This wasn’t a “we have no idea how many shooters there are or where” situation at all. This was a “we have the shooter contained and we’ve swept the school, now we’re going to let him kill all the kids in the room” situation. They knew this at the time. Again, public record.

But they will be. I wonder how many parents are now heeled when they drop their kids off.

She is a little petite woman. Of course, the geared up big bad cops were afraid of her and handcuffed her. If it weren’t for a US Marshal friend who took the handcuffs off she’d still be in them. Amazed she wasn’t tackled and thrown to the pavement like other parents were.

Not saying this was or wasn’t a red flag but she upset the plan or dared to question authority so is now being threatened. Next time, interfering parents will be factored in and it won’t be pretty.

She can tuck her two boys in at night. Sadly, many other parents can’t.

“parents shouldn’t go into a building where there’s a active shooting situation going on.“

Said another way, you are for agents of the state, deciding when and under what circumstances, parents are “allowed” to protect their children.

Duly noted.

Hahahahahaha! What field of fire? They weren’t aiming at anyone but unarmed frustrated parents. The only field of fire should have been in the first 2 minutes with one cop distracting the shooter from the hallway and a second cop putting a bead on his head from any of the many windows.

The cops sat picking lint from their belly buttons for 78 to 90 minutes while babies were being slaughtered. FYI, the time discrepancy may very well be the 12 minutes of missing recording. They refused to do anything until they got better shields and the bleepin’ key to the classroom from the missing janitor.

Children were calling 911 to please send help. Children were putting their dead friends’ blood on themselves and playing dead. So, you’re good with the cops doing nothing.

Unfortunately, those kids’ 911 calls were going nowhere. Why? Because the chief in charge forgot to bring his radio. As if no other cop on scene could have given him theirs.

At what minute mark would you decide your child’s life was worthy of being saved by you?

That’s an interesting leap but no you would be wrong.

Sorry Jack, you’re going to find me a manual, any manual that any law enforcement or any response agency or any Defense Agency has possibly written which condones allowing bystanders into a scene which presents an immediate hazard.

Keeping bystanders out of that building was not part of the tactical action which was to secure the threat.

It ain’t in a manual anywhere so don’t even bother looking.

Still fits this thread to a “t.”

There’s a number of reasons one might be close by.
I used to work for them.
The border area is a hot bed for fugitives.
That’s the marshals job.
