Graph the price of oil company stocks over time and compare with the general stock market (e.g. S&P 500): currently about the same for the first time in five years. Not windfall profits but catch-up profits on very long term investments.

Businesses don’t pay taxes.

They collect them.

EXACTLY, but Dufus doesn't understand enough economics to figure it out.

[[“We are very much open to any proposal that would provide relief to consumers at the pump,” said Ramamurti.]]

Open the pipeline, allow drilling, allow leases, open up Alaska to more drilling, sllow more fracking, in order to become energey Independent like we used to be under Trump.

Oh, you weren’t serious ramamurti? How foolish of me

He’s on news saying reports saying Americans feel more comfortable then ever about financial situation; Americans saving more then ever.

Tell that to families having to pay increase in gas, food, utilities.

We are very much open to any proposal that would provide relief to consumers at the pump...

Bullcrap! If you were, you get rid of the Executive Order that shut down the XL Pipeline, severely restricted oil leases, and mired the permitting process for oil leases/production. You have NO interest in helping the American people, only your political interests in the hope there are enough ignorant Green people to keep you in power. Wrong again, Stupid. America's is waking up to your stupid decision making.

So, what will happen is XOM will move their HQ from Irving Texas to Dublin Ireland.

Then they will only pay US taxes on US operations and revenue to the US treasury will go down.

The wealth generated by their overseas operations will remain overseas.

Of course....oil companies will just have to take it up the butt...lol

Without price controls ,which is basically communism, oil companies will just recalibrate the selling price to suit their lost profits. So that will be the next shoe to drop.

Business do not PAY taxes. They collect them for the government. Tax oil/gas more, the cost of the commodity goes up to the consumer.

This a$$ and his puppet masters couldn’t find water if they fell out of a row boat in the middle of Lake Michigan.

No. The Democrats have this one right. The “experts” said so.

What you do is simple. Raise taxes on petroleum and natural gas. To prevent companies from passing on the increased cost you cap the amount they can charge consumers.

When the price to produce fuel and natural gas is more expensive than what the capped price is then the companies stop selling.

Then you get cold (or hot, depending on the season) and factories move to China where they can get cheap energy. Since there won’t be fuel to farm or transport fuel then you won’t have food—even if there was food you can’t get to work so you can’t afford it.

Then you starve.

Hey, it’s already working for babies who need formula, why stop there?
