A spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety tells KBTX that five people were found murdered in Leon County near the area where escaped inmate Gonzalo Lopez was last seen in May. A large law enforcement presence is in the area including a helicopter.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice says law enforcement received a call from an individual who was concerned after not hearing from an elderly relative. Officers arrived at the residence and discovered the bodies of two adults and three children.

I saw a news story about this. Lopez is believed to be high up in one of the Mexican drug cartels (possibly how he escaped) and is suspected to be trying to find his way back to Mexico. Centerville, TX is a long way from the border. He is considered armed and dangerous and not the least bit shy about becoming violent.

It’s necessary to prevent this exact kind of scenario.
Anyone who would murder someone else, not accidentally cause the death of, or kill in self-defense, but outright murder, is a treat to society and the death penalty is necessary to protect society.
He would have been back to Mexico within a day if not that day.
Once-upon-a-time we sent troops into Mexico looking for a killer. Both my Grandfathers were in on that expedition.
