Take a pic of the license plate, put it in a database, and when the car is encountered later tow it away.

Some of those will be stolen cars - not actually the owner’s fault. How is it fair to punish them? (Yes, this is the long running conundrum with just recording licenses and not pursuing a fleeing vehicle. A dishonest person can claim the vehicle was stolen when the police go to their house - if they return without it - but an honest person would be penalized if the car really was stolen.)

Of course, there’s actually now a technological solution to people fleeing in cars and not stopping - but WA police (or their political masters) are too PC, too stupid or too cheap to buy them because it’s remarkably effective in ending a pursuit and *forcing* the vehicle to stop.

Take license plate off, keep driving and not stopping. Cancel drivers license? So what? Who needs one? Lots of cars in Milwaukee for example have no plates and few drivers have licenses.
