Ukraine war volunteers are coming home, reckoning with difficult fight
Washington Post ^ | May 28, 2022 | Razzan Nakhlawi and Souad Mekhennet

To Dakota’s surprise, it wasn’t the shelling that terrified him most.

What wasn’t normal, he said, was the feeling of dread while he hid and listened as Russian attack helicopters strafed the position his team of tank hunters had just fled.

Foreign fighters from the United States and elsewhere described glaring disparities between what they expected the war to be like and what they experienced.

(...)

By the end of the second night, eight of the 20 volunteers in Dakota’s unit had abandoned their posts, including a fellow Marine veteran who appeared to break his machine gun with a rock in the hope of passing it off as battle damage. Another feigned an injury, he said.

{Dakota} was diagnosed with a brain injury linked to his proximity to the shelling, he said, and left for home toward the end of April. He has been in recovery ever since.

Pascal, a veteran of the German army, was on a team with Cancel, the American killed in combat in late April.

The day Cancel was killed, he said, they took fire from a position they believed to be Ukrainian but didn’t have radio communication to confirm. Two members of the team ventured out to investigate. Gunfire sounded, and they never returned, he said.

(...) One team member was killed in the shelling. Pascal and another volunteer turned their attention to Cancel, who had been struck by shrapnel. They applied tourniquets in a fruitless attempt to stop the bleeding. Their bodies were left behind as Pascal and another survivor withdrew.

Miller, the American volunteer, met him at a bar in Warsaw and noted how shaken up he seemed.

“From the beginning, we had no chance,” Pascal said in an interview. “I was asking myself why I survived and the others did not.”

Tide would seem to be turning on the Western war agitprop. Guess it’s all systems go on gun-grabbing and aborted babies as the Supreme Court nears the end of the current term.

Isn’t this about the same attitude those chumps had, who left their home countries, and joined ISIS?

Throwing your life away for a comedian muppet president and a globalist playground. isn’t a good idea. They should be coming home stateside doing that stuff at our southern border, not at some foreign Democrap banking sh*thole where we have no business being in.

⚡️Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting secret negotiations with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the burial of their dead. And about surrender. The negotiations were successful. The “O” group reports:

“I will not repeat that this has already become the norm for the Kiev regime and they operate on the principle: “no body, no business.” I want to talk about something else here.

I tried to write this post for a long time, something kept stopping me. Probably did not want one of its participants to repeat the fate of Sergei Lapko (company commander who received a term for showing the plight of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).

So, after the liberation of another settlement from the Nazis in the Donetsk region, we went to the enemy command (fortunately, intelligence works well and their call signs with the frequencies on which they work are well known to us) and offered them to pick up the bodies of their dead comrades, naturally with a complete cessation fire from our side and unimpeded passage of the car to the designated place.

After a short conversation, they received a categorical refusal and a request not to disturb them anymore on this occasion (this is a literary language, there was a long stream of obscene expressions). Toward evening they were all buried. (I’m not attaching a photo, I’ll explain further).

In the middle of the night, they come to me on the radio from the checkpoint and ask me to urgently arrive. Understanding nothing, I am undermined, I leave for the post. On the spot, they tell me that a fighter came from the other side, calls your call sign, said he will only talk to you. I go into the room, a young guy is sitting, the uniform is dirty, shabby. Showed documents. And he began to say: “I’m the commander of a platoon of those boys whose bodies you proposed to take today, I couldn’t get on the radio, my own people would be immediately decided. Bury my soldiers, please, and tell me where, I will tell their relatives the location. The command flatly refuses inform families about the dead and wounded, so as not to cause panic among relatives. We are now called up only because otherwise we will go to jail, and here we can’t retreat, cadre or nationalists are behind us, we will get a bullet from them.

He told how they were prepared in training before being sent to the front end. “For two weeks we studied the charters, 30 parthorons for shooting training and on the road.” All his words were confirmed by photographs. He says: “Fortunately, they don’t take away phones, we record everything.”

They talked for a long time, spoke about the mood in the units: “everything is sad, everyone is afraid, and those who are in front and those who are behind.” But he came not only with this request. “My main task,” he continued, “is to save the lives of my fighters. Tell me how we can surrender. We don’t want to fight for the oligarchs who are sitting abroad and our corrupt government! Why is it possible for Azov, but not for us?” .

After receiving all the instructions, he left, left with the hope that his remaining subordinates would remain alive. A day later, after the start of the assault on the next settlement, the platoon of this commander surrendered in full force, as he promised. Now their lives are not in danger.

Summing up, I want to ask only one question. When will the population of Ukraine realize that their president, a drug addict and boy-loving Arestovich, does not care about the lives of the citizens of his country!? They calmly surrendered the Azov in Mariupol, declaring that this was an evacuation, and they will continue to do so. Until the last Ukrainian... I wanted to briefly, but it didn’t quite work out.”

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

This theme, “I did not expect the war would be that bad,” was the same reaction young men felt who rushed off to fight the American Civil War of the 1860’s.

It started off as a glorious adventure and became a nightmare of watching your fellow soldiers shot to pieces.

I have to admit, guys dumb enough to fall for the propaganda and go fight for globohomo in Ukraine will also be dumb enough to fall for propaganda and go along with rounding up gun owners, etc. here at home, so they do not have my sympathy.

At some point, sustainied and dogged failure to recognize reality will have to start to hurt WAPO and similar organizations in their bank accounts. They seem to understand that...

I stopped patronizing WAPO in the mid 90s when it became clear that they were covering for the KKKlintlers and basically lying by omission.

Uks never had a chance. They have fought bravely, but much of their country will be lost, it not all.

It was always propaganda they had a chance, even against the bungling Russians and the media went out of their way to trumpet every little victory, while the Russian tide continued to roll in.

What? No tear jerking about evil Russians and saintly Ukranians?

I guess once that $40,000,000,000 handout to Ukraine got approved, the Globalist Deep State cut their pro-Ukraine propaganda budget.

Thus, WaPo is relegated to spewing low budget non-Globalist Deep State propaganda.

The "war-ending deal" is pretty much at hand, i.e. the total and devastating humiliation and defeat of the deep-state, the demopoop party, Breadline-Joe Biden, NATO fops, the clowns and fools who just voted another $40,000,000,000 for the cause of Nazism and evil in the world and, of course, the supreme overlord and master of all such human garbage, Satan.

Vladimir Putin has just made MONKEYS out of all those wankers and super losers.

This is a supreme lifetime accomplishment. Putin could die right now and Russians would grieve but they would not suffer. Putin has seen to it that pretty much all of the people involved in running Russia are all up to his own standards of competence and patriotism.

“Dakota, who is home in Ohio now after seven weeks of fighting abroad, is among the legion of Western volunteers who have taken up arms against Russia.”

Russia doesn’t like MERCENARIES, so he should feel lucky to have made it out of there.
