Texas School Shooter’s Dad: ‘He Should’ve Just Killed Me’
Daily Beast ^ | May 27, 2022 | Roger Sollenberger

Posted on 05/27/2022 2:16:49 PM PDT by plain talk

The father of the 18-year-old gunman who killed 21 people at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, this week wants the world to know he is sorry. In an interview with The Daily Beast on Thursday, Salvador Ramos said, “I just want the people to know I’m sorry man, [for] what my son did.”

“I never expected my son to do something like that,” Ramos, 42, added. “He should’ve just killed me, you know, instead of doing something like that to someone.”

He said he did notice one change in his son in recent months: a pair of boxing gloves he’d purchased and started testing out at a local park. “I said, ‘Mijo, one day somebody’s going to kick your ass,’” Ramos recalled. “I started seeing different changes in him like that.”

“They killed my baby man,” he said. He added: “I’m never gonna see my son again, just like they’re not gonna see their kids. And that hurts me.”

He said his son had a girlfriend in San Antonio, whom he and his family had been to visit, but he did not comment further on the teenager’s social life, which classmates said had rapidly been declining. He added that he was speaking out because “I want my son’s story out there.” “I don’t want them calling him a monster... they don’t know nothing, man,” he said. “They don’t know anything he was going through.”

This is hard for me to read. The father had a lengthy rap sheet himself and the family unit was a mess.

When a kid gets into May and then decides not to graduate from High School that says quite a bit right there.

Sorry, buddy, but he was a monster. I really don’t G-A-S what he was going through. There is no possible justification for what he did.

The kid was a monster, whether he was your precious son or not.

It’s beyond disgusting that the father is making this about his kid went nineteen 10 year olds are dead because the son slaughtered them.

I cannot fathom the terror those kids endured while they watched this unfold in front of them knowing their turn was coming.

Yeah, well for what he was going through, look in the mirror for blame.

YOU were the dad.

A parent is responsible for how their kid turns out. Period, no exemptions, exceptions, or exclusions.

This idiot can rot in hell.

I think we all agree, that parenting is very important for
kids, and I do think it helps prevent kids from going this
far off the deep end.

On the other hand, you can have 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or more kids
raised by the same parents have have all but one turn out
great upstanding kids, and sill have that one kid who goes
off the deep end.

Some kids mental make-up is just different. From birth they
will challenge any form of authority, and do what they
please no matter what.

Good luck when that happens.

As for this dad, he tips off his value to the kid during
his comments, and the claim his kid was not a monster is
one of the biggest.

The kid was a huge monster to do this.

I’m pretty sure he was already a monster months before.

He’s trying to re-write his son’s identity with the girlfriend, boxing, etc. He hates that his son was a tranny nutcase freak loser. He did nothing to show him how to be a man, and screwed his kid over. Dad’s a POS and his kid is a (dead) monster. If dad wasn’t such a POS, maybe the kid would have been normal.

Dump the kid's body on a busy freeway, and let the vehicles grind him into a paste on the pavement.

No grave for him.

A schoolmate is reporting the shooter was a bully- not the other way around as he said they will try to claim. He said people wouldn’t react to the bully which agitated him.

This is uniquely an American problem. There’s not much of a community in this country. Everyone keeps to themselves in their homes. Many families are led by a single parent. Mainstream media is analyzing every fault of our society. Every crazy person gets his moment of fame on social media. Easy access to firearms (I am pro-second amendment, I am just sharing the facts as we have them in this country. In Japan, this is not a problem. But they are not free. So they traded freedom for security)

Quote from shooters mother —

‘’He had his reasons for doing what he did. Please don’t judge him. I only want the innocent children who died to forgive me,” she said. “Forgive me, forgive my son. I know he had his reasons. ‘’

Used to be reasonably true, but over the last several decades local, state, and federal laws/regs have severely altered the limits of parental control.

That's one of the reasons homeschooling has taken off.
