Shocking new video has emerged showing Texas cops restraining parents as they tried to rescue their kids on Tuesday after a gunman unleashed terror inside the elementary school, as questions grow over why it took so long to get to the shooter after the first 911 call.
Salvador Ramos, 18, arrived at the school in Uvalde at 11.30am, crashing his car into a ditch.
A school resource officer was at the scene but he failed to stop him from making his way inside.
Two other cops also rushed to the school at that time - Ramos had just shot his grandmother in the face at their home less than five miles away. She survived and called the police.
When they arrived, Ramos is said to have shot at them then ran into the school, where he barricaded himself in the fourth grade classroom and shot 19 kids and two teachers dead.
It took another 90 minutes from that point for police to declare the shooting over.
Now, sources say police were struggling to get into the classroom and needed a key to open the door.
Eventually, a border patrol agent was able to get inside and the shooting was declared over at 1.06pm.
But it questions remain over why it took police so long to get into the classroom where the kids were trapped with the gunman.
One child told KENS 5 that he was able to hide under a desk, but that a girl who yelled out 'help' when police arrived was executed.

Since this morning when this thread started some of you have been very stable, even handed and kind….
Some of you however, were disrespectful, imo, and scourged the law enforcers unmercifully, I thought.
I had my own knee jerk moments and I offer apologies……I didn’t see the presser but now it seems, for sure, there was a delay in help getting to those children.
I still affirm most police officers will do the best they can………but there seems to not have been good protocol for saving those children as urgently as possible.
I apologize.
May God have mercy on those families.
I only noticed it when the photo was posted to the thread.
At first I did not read the sub text, which indentified it. I saw the US Marshall’s logo first.
It is so nice how many eyes on this forum multiply the detailed observations of the parts of an incident.
Several went in early
He wounded two of them
They retreated
They then took 60-90 minutes from first engagement to go back in at 1:06
Waited on Border tact
Facts per Leo spokesman I just watched it
They were cowards
You like cowards
I do not
They are mostly Hispanic and many are first generation Americans. The Mayor of this town was on TV a few months back and was upset with Joe and how the massive wave of illegal immigrants were affecting his town. He’s a Dem by the way.

“What if she got in the way of the police getting a clear shot?”
If the police were inside, doing their job (leading), then she needn’t go in. Otherwise, they should put their badges and guns on the ground and crawl away.
There is no “waiting for backup” when people are being sacrificed inside.
If I were a cop I’d just quit. There is obviously nobody on either side worth saving. You guys are sickening.
“So you think that mother should have been allowed to go inside? Really?”
Looks like she did go in =>
“Once freed from her cuffs, Ms. Gomez made her distance from the crowd, jumped the school fence, and ran inside to grab her two children. She sprinted out of the school with them.”

OMG that’s so sad :-((
Hopefully adult children at least, they were married for 30 years.
Nothing is, or was guaranteed that day, even if a number of cops had stormed the school. You might like to think everything would have gone well, but potentially, it could have also gone very bad. We’ll never know, but continuing to assume specific scenarios would have occurred, doesn’t do anyone a bit of good.
They wanted people to die.
I don’t know why you say I like cowards. Have your opinion, whatever it is. Feel superior in your opinion, whatever it is, no matter how oversimplified it may be. Have at it. Have a nice day.
Yet, here we are.
The only thing that makes sense is that, as someone else said, they wanted people to die.
