Three ways Democrats helped foil Trump in Georgia last night

I don’t mean to minimize a big win for sane Republicans by sharing credit for it with Democrats. Brian Kemp and especially Brad Raffensperger prevailing without runoffs is the most encouraging thing to happen in GOP elections since…

I can’t even think of the last encouraging thing. Sometime in the Before Times.

Anyone inclined to cite last night as proof that Trump is losing his grip on the party, though, should bear in the mind that we have yet to see a truly anti-Trump Republican win anywhere this year. Raffensperger himself is the closest thing, but even Raffensperger won’t rule out voting for Trump in 2024 despite the many death threats his family received amid Trump’s “stop the steal” insanity. Trump’s hold on Republican primary voters remains so strong that Charlie Baker, who boasts the highest approval rating of any governor in America, declined to run for a third term this year in Massachusetts because he suspected he couldn’t win the GOP primary.

Meditate on that. In a state where Baker is the only Republican who could plausibly win, primary voters there would have turned him out of his office because he’d committed the sin of criticizing Trump in the past.

I think it’s fair to conclude from last night’s results that Republican voters in Georgia no longer regard failing the “rigged election” litmus test as disqualifying for a GOP politician provided that that politician has a strong conservative record and hasn’t otherwise antagonized Trump. That’s how Kemp won. And Raffensperger probably sneaked through on the strength of Kemp’s support plus the fact that his challenger, Jody Hice, reportedly ran a miserable campaign.

“Would it be a bad thing if Kemp lost in the general ?”

Pelosi, Schumer, AOC and Liz Warren don’t think so. Anyone who wants to see Big Mama Abrams elected, go over and stand with your buddies, Pelosi and that group.

Trump doesn't get an "L" until "Brain" Kemp and Rattenspewer win their elections in November.

Until then, it's gloating in the sixth inning.

“Perdue was a really terrible candidate.”

Agreed. Foolish people on our side tried to convince everyone that Perdue’s loss in the 2021 election was due to Lin Wood. It was a laughable analysis. David Perdue was a milquetoast candidate with no convictions. He deserved to lose.

They should have left Vernon Jones to run for Governor and not switched things aro7nd by inserting Perdue.

Well, Yeah. There would never ever be another All Star baseball game in the worst state of the Union.

Obviously they don’t live here! We watched the MISCOUNT, the fraud, the LYING by both Raffensberger & Kemp and the only winners were the RINOs! GA is a solid RINO state and they will not allow anybody to unseat the machine. Sure, I’ll take them over Stacey Abrams, but just barely! I don’t trust them! PERIOD!

Honestly, this is a state that needs to take over every school board, mayorship and state legislative seat, then start the change from the bottom up. I’d like to see some of the people who ran and lost, who were good candidates but totally unknown, to run for some fo the local/state legislative offices, and make a reputation for the record. That would help a lot.

However, I really wish the Article V convention would get going!! What are they waiting for...for it to be too late? Once China attacks, or both China & Russia, it won’t matter that we have an Article V convention.

“..Would it be a bad thing if Kemp lost in the general?...”

Good question. GA may soon find out.
It sure looks like the “Big Momma” is ready to seriously kick his butt to the curb....and then some.

I don’t want to see Abrams win but I badly want to see kemp punished for his crime and all the Kemp supporting GOPe scum. In fact I want to see Kemp’s political career finished.

In light of yesterday I would also like the kemp supporting voters punished for their (much less) crime of voting for a criminal. That’s why I wondered how bad could it be if Kemp lost the general. Regardless of who wins Trump will have an enemy in the GA governor’s office and traitors are the worst enemies.

Kemp is a absolute POS.

A while back on here, someone posted a link to a REDDIT thread where the liberals were discussing if they could vote in the Republican primaries.

Don’t know if they did, in what numbers they did, but I do find it hard to believe that Kemp and Raffensberger put up the numbers they did. Wvery RINO in Georgia showed up for them.

Why would I say that? Look at the other candidates that President Trump supported or are MAGA-types. Jones, no matter how he may present himself, is a deeply flawed candidate with some pretty legitimate issues in his past. The only reason he made it back into politics is because he initially ran as a Democrat and they don’t care about previous criminal allegations, etc. It wasn’t until he changed sides and became a very vocal supporter of Pres Trump did things change for him.

And I don’t care what kind of campaign Hice ran, there’s no way Raffensberger has that much support.

My one vote won’t matter much but if Kemp and Raffensberger, retain their positions, they will do so without my Republican vote.

You are 100%!out of your mind

Kemp is giving away the state to anyone that comes here with deep
Enough pockets.

Soros is now very much in play here in Georgia. And that will lie solely at the feet of Kemp and the rest.

There were 500K more votes in 2022 mid terms than on 2018.

Who dropped the ball on this.
All they had to do was say.. Dem.. When asked which do you want.

The Republicans fouled out on this one..
How many ways are the dems gonna get the upper hand.

Agree...and a state so corrupt and owned by Soros also voted to keep MTG as their rep candidate and Hershal Walker as their candidate by the same margins Kemp won.

Allahpundit can cram it.

I bet a lot of Demon rats voted in the Republican primary. Kemp may have won anyway, but that is my opinion.

I still hope he beats that hateful Democrat who was on Star Trek.

When a voter goes in.. In GA.. To vote.. They ask do you want a rep.. A dem.. Or an ind ballot.
You dont have to say anything but say which you want.
Then you go vote.

Any Democrat can vote on a rep ballot.

There is no way Kemp and rasp could have won that big.. Being honest.

GA has been called a cesspool from last election.. Corruption..

And they didn’t fix it yet.. Given a choice to cheat.. They did.

My understanding is the governor is prohibited by the state constitution from involvement in elections so people are outraged Kemp did nothing about something he couldn’t legally touch.
