I started researching homemade cat food, after a friend reported that 3 of her other friends hadn’t been able to find any in so long that they were doing things like trapping squirrels and spending their free time fishing, just so they could feed their cats.
It turns out that dark meat turkey is really high in taurine, a nutrient cats need a lot of. I used that as an excuse to buy a really big turkey that was on sale, because I love white meat turkey. After roasting and deboning, we mixed the dark meat and giblets with some cooked squash (from my garden, kept in the freezer) and fed them some. They’ve been eating it with almost as much gusto as they do with canned tuna, so I think that’s a win.
I’m hoping I can get my house built soon, so I can raise my own turkeys and other animals. I own 10 acres, but I’m renting a room from family until I can put a house there.
Even gardening on my land is going to be harder with gas prices the way they’re going. I still intend to plant a lot, but it might have to tend itself for the most part.
What happens if we sink a bunch of their ships and they then sink some of our carriers and destroyers?

Ukraine would be sinking Russian ships with American kissiles given to them for that specific purpose.

Second, you could consider a “Tiny House” vs. renting and hoping to build a house. At least you would be on your land, working your land, while the homestead home is being built.

I had originally planned on a tiny house. Then the zoning code outlawed them :/
Mobile homes and campers are also not allowed.
I have some ideas, but haven’t quite polished them enough to submit the application for the building permit yet.
