Best thing that could possibly happen for the Ukrainian people at this point would be for Russians to take the whole place and not just the Eastern half. Who the hell would want to live in some sort of a Polish-controlled “rump state”??

Amazing that anyone here in FR would value the words of that pedophile Ritter.

Amazing that anyone here in FR would think this $40 billion is going to be spent honorably and judiciously in one of the most corrupt countries on the planet with oversight provided by one of the most corrupt executive and congressional branches we’ve ever produced.

You really have to hand it to the Democrats; they've managed to successfully divide its citizens and stoke the flames of hatred using slavery that ended 157 years ago while simultaneously making all Americans slaves to the rest of the world. And Republicans don't escape that wrath, they've done their part, as well.

You think Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on the planet? Corruption there pales in comparison to that of Russia.

in no way are we refusing to be defending our Fatherland.

Interesting.

Russians defend "The Motherland".

Trying to remember another ideology in that region from decades ago that was "defending The Fatherland"...  thinking face winking face

And you are exactly a perfect example as to why interacting with Putin’s little helpers is never advisable.

Hope you didn’t hurt yourself, sniffer.

Yeah, and it’s also amazing that anyone on FR would be OK with our governmemt giving $40 billion to a corrupt, NAZI-loving, money laundering kleptocracy like Ukraine.

Absolutely it is. I’d be curious to hear your reasons why it isn’t.

Corruption there pales in comparison to that of Russia.

How so? You do realize that Ukraine and Russia are culturally mirror images of each other.

“Does not look like the $40 billion is reaching the frontline troops.”

Not a surprise. IMHO, one of the reasons for the US government’s rabid support of Ukraine in this fight is to ensure their money laundering activities remain operational and hidden from the public.

I am not an accountant but it would interesting to open the books and see the results of a forensic audit when this war ends and determine how much money is being kicked back to our altruistic, noble, and honorable government servants (a.k.a.: Congress).

It’s not without corruption.. no country is, but it ranks less corrupt than “beloved mother Russia.”

Three links all from the same group - Transparency International (IMF-World Bank). They seem to be the only group providing this ranking.

They rank Ukraine as the 60th most corrupt out of 117 countries. Notably Mexico is 62nd, Russia is 76th, China is 34th and USA is 24th.

So.. just slightly in the lower middle. That doesn’t sound like one of “the most corrupt in the world” as claimed

There are books?

The grandfathers of these Asov thugs were the old-time efficient NAZIs. These mooks: not so much.

And Congress is actually showing up in person to ensure the correct wire transfer numbers are employed.

Let’s just act like the elite: the appearance of wrong doing is enough to indict, convict and confiscate. They can always sue for the return of freedom and assets.

I have no idea what the corruption curve looks like, I kind of doubt it’s linear. We know Ukraine is very corrupt. We also know the USA is quite corrupt, but is hardly investigated. We know China is corrupt and they rank relatively close to the USA. I believe part of the equation for that ranking system is investigations, etc (I think I remember reading that). I don’t put a ton of stock in a single group’s ranking, especially one that operates under the World Bank.

To the contrary, I put GOP pond scum at the FRONT of the pack; they KNEW better and did opposite anyway. They get dealt their comeuppance FIRST, while it’s hottest, and freshest!

tsk, tsk - so the Ukrainians should be under Moscow’s thumb you say?
