The US and its NATO allies should prepare a “devastating” response to potential Russian nuclear action, Sen. Mitt Romney said on Saturday.
The call to action comes on the heels of threats from the Kremlin and warnings from Russian diplomats that the country’s Ukraine invasion could lead to a nuclear strike, the Utah Republican wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times.

That’s a given, of course.
While I like civil defense, since the late 60s the amount of nukes that would fly would almost certainly make the northern hemisphere a complete loss for thousands of years. And the southern would be in deep trouble too.
I have some old 60s radiation detectors and think they should have that, iodine pills, and MREs ready for cheap. But I don’t think it would help all that much if it went down hard.

I read today that we are arming Ukraine to sink the Russian Black Sea fleet. It’s almost like they WANT to provoke a nuclear war.

That is a debatable proposition—I am not sure we even know if it is true or not (and I sure don’t want to find out)!

These elites who have underground hideouts, these are the people you read about hiding themselves underground and at some point, praying for everything to just come crashing down on themselves. Envying the dead.

A lot of it would depend on how good the US can do on hitting their silos and subs. They don’t really have a lot of subs right now, so I’m sure they could all be destroyed in a first strike before they launched, or at least most of them. The ICBMs though would probably need a lot of stealth bombers with an incredibly well-timed strike to get most of them. Russia’s bomber fleet is a joke for now.
Hopefully there’s a lot of communication going on behind the scenes so a false alarm doesn’t trigger anything.
