I’m a lifelong Democrat. I voted for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. I used to have an inherent aversion to Republicans, as I joke with colleagues, similar to how the vaccinated feel about the unvaccinated today. But as the pandemic unfolded, and I discussed with doctors across the country and around the world my experience treating patients, I met many new conservative colleagues and friends who put politics aside to focus on doing our best at the bedside. It made me more tolerant and understanding of their worldviews.
At the same time, I used to view Democrats, and the center-left more broadly, as the champions of free speech both in civil society and in our professional institutions. But now, as with today’s progressive political movement, medical boards are adopting policies that censor opinions, defining such speech as mis- or disinformation, especially scientific opinions around COVID. Medical professionals who refuse to toe the party line risk censorship, cancellation, and even the loss of license—a fate far worse than getting banned from Twitter.
The trend is forcing doctors who exhibit critical thinking to face an existential choice: join the mob and support what many of us believe are dangerous policies without a sound scientific basis, or stand up and risk losing your livelihood.
This trend has troubling long-term implications for patients—something all of us will become at some point in our lives.

I would never have a Democrat as a PCP. The entire thought process held by any Democrat is suspect. You have to believe that bleeds through into every other aspect of their lives, including work. COVID was a great test to apply to doctors. I have a couple medical conditions that need semi-regular visits with specialists. COVID provided the basis to have frank discussions with my doctors about their politics since the response to COVID was primarily political, not medical. I was pleasantly surprised by what was said with masks removed in examining rooms.

Dr. Kory is a very accomplished doctor and one of the founding physicians of FLCCC, responsible for saving hundreds of thousands of lives, at a minimum. The “woke mob” has been trying for months if not years to get his medical license. I think he’s been “fired” from 3 places because he believes in treating the patients with what they need, not just sending them home until they get so bad they have to come back and be admitted to a COVID death ward.
He has “seen the light” when it comes to the DemonRats. Another accomplished doc who has said recently he “will never vote for another Democrat” (after voting for Biden) is Dr. Robert Malone. I think Dr. McCullough was also a Dem & is now an Independent (?). Malone & McCullough are also facing medical board inquiries/actions, even lawsuits (McCullough), trying to destroy them for daring to say anything other than the Fauci/government regime ‘narrative’.
If you voted for the people you claim to have voted for, I would cross you off my list of possible doctors to use. You obviously have very poor judgment and do little to no research before deciding on a course of action. Your pattern is consistent across more than several candidates.

Hey, Doc, if I am your patient and learn that you are a democrat, I’ll be seeking a new doctor.
My sincere advice to this doctor is to advise him that Republican politicians are garbage just as much as the Democrats, but Republican voters are great people.
He needs to speak to as many Republican voters as possible and listen to them talk about their frustration with Republican politicians and the whole entire political system. This is how we can change the political system.
20 years ago when I went from being a liberal to conservative I made the mistake of thinking that people like Bush and Karl rove were better than the democrats. They ain’t!
