Most “Catholic” states are Dem - where do you get the idea that a people who are nominally Romanist would be “conservative” - sounds like a Bush League assumption to me. ;)
Catholics are pretty evenly divided. Almost split evenly. But that’s “old” establishment (e.g. Biden, Pelosi, Kerry, etc.) Catholics. Hispanic Catholics tend to be more conservative in their views and are largely waking up to the depredations of the Dem party. PR is 80% Hispanic and very RC. Overall Catholics are trending R, too. Maybe that’s the influx of Hispanic Catholics over the past few decades.
If you’re going to glom on to snarky epithets like “Bush League” you should probably try to understand them, first.
