MA is the only state in the Union to have outright banned slavery the day they ratified the Constitution...

What? The legislature in MA never passed any law banning slavery. They sold slaves in Quincy Market. They were major players in the slave trade.

The Supreme Court of the State of Massachusetts declared slavery was illegal because of a clause in the State Constitution that stated, “all men are created free and equal”.
