An emotional Nevada mom has gone viral after school board officials cut her mic temporarily as she read sexually explicit passages from a class assignment given to her high school daughter.
Las Vegas news outlet KTNV confirmed Wednesday that Kandra Evans is the mother seen telling a Clark County School District board meeting that a teacher required her 15-year-old daughter to memorize the “pornographic” material for a class assignment.
“This will be horrifying for me to read to you, but that will give you perspective on how she must have felt when her teacher required her to memorize this and to act it out in front of her entire class,” Ms. Evans says in a video of Thursday’s school board meeting that has taken off on social media.
The video shows her becoming emotional as she begins reading from the materials in her hands: “I don’t love you. It’s not you, it’s just, I don’t like your d—- — or any d—- in that case. I cheated, Joe.”
“Forgive me, we’re not using profanity,” the board’s chairwoman Irene Cepeda interrupted, as Ms. Evans’ microphone seemed to be cut off briefly.
Another school board member called for “decorum” and told Ms. Evans not to “engage with the audience.”
The mother responded: “If you don’t want me to read it to you, what was it like for my 15-year-old daughter to have to memorize pornographic material and memorize it?”
After the exchange, school board officials allowed Ms. Evans to finish her remarks, which took up nearly four minutes of the meeting.
“We have pornography laws regarding minors in this state and many of those were violated because of this assignment,” Ms. Evans said, adding that she didn’t have time to name all of them.

Probably nameless administrators come up with these assignments based on guidance from the NEA.
SPJNK.
Wow, that meme is freakin scary.
Within the weasel-words and “procedures” the school board did acknowledge her concerns and said they would be addressed, which is what the woman wanted, not to upset her daughters life.
Part of the problem is that the definition of pornography is and always has been vague, or as Justice Steward put it “I know it when I see it”. This passage seems inappropriate and I can see that it fits under some definitions of pornography. On the other hand, the word that was censored is a common English word that is freely used - only the context makes it “dirty”. And it is not profanity.
Try distributing it to the Children, Grand Children, Nieces and Nephews of EVERY PUBLIC EMPLOYEE in the County, see what they do.
Shut it down! Defund the schools!
If true, the teacher should be charged with something like willfully exposing a minor to pornography. Whether or not charged with a crime, he or she should be fired.
If the school refuses to investigate or tell the mother the results of its investigation, then legal action against the district should be considered.
Going on the assumption that not all of the girl’s teachers are rotten, I’d, at the very least demand she be pulled from the teacher’s class.
Many thought the sky was falling at the low slope of that chart. Now we so very close to uf not at Revelation 6.
Public schools are toxic
Correct. Try this at any playground or candy store and the cops show up. But if your a teacher grooming children, then apparently they think its fine.
EXODUS from government-run public education ! Yes, THAT’S the answer.
You think thats bad, check out what’s going on in Washington State.

Now if you go to the store and listen to kids talk, they are using it like a noun, adjective and verb in everyday conversations. I thought we were creative in the barracks, but this even embarrassed me.
Hitting them where it really hurts is putting people in prison. Laws were broken. All those responsible should be tried in both criminal and civil court.
Agreed, but the reality is this will never happen. The only real course that will make a quick result is to sue. We can continue to play the long game and vote them out an replace them, but that will take considerably longer. Use the current laws on the books, prove damages, and get punitive restitution. Wash - rinse - repeat. It's how we ended up in this situation in the first place and it's far past time to start playing the same game.
Years ago one of our local high schools had the kids reading a book with pornographic content. I’m talking over 35 years ago here. The local newspaper came out criticizing the parents who were objecting to it. So, I wrote a letter to the editor of the local newspaper and included several very sexually explicit quotes from the book. I was, of course, defending those parents who objected to it in my letter.
After I submitted the letter I got a call from the newspaper. She told me they couldn’t publish my letter to the editor. I feigned surprise and asked why. She said, “The material is not appropriate for a newspaper.” And then I said, “But you think that this reading material is perfectly fine for high school students?” She said that my point was well taken and asked me to rewrite it. I asked her if she would publish it if I pointed out that they refused to publish my original one because the content was so sexually graphic and she said that I could. It was a minor victory back in the day. :-)
I seriously doubt that was the worst of it.
I just love to click on a post expecting a video to only to find a rat hole of links that go nowhere.
I admire the lady’s courage but she took the wrong route. She should have called the police and had the teacher arrested for any number of offenses, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
THEN present this to the school board and demand the teacher be fired. The teacher clearly knows what they are doing here, not only forcing the student to read the filth but memorize it too.
To the board member who insisted on decorum, I would ask “shouldn’t our children be afforded the same or better decorum than what is said in this room?”
Oh, and as a final act, pull the children out of public schools. It will be the best thing she’ll ever do for them.
Grooming is defended by corrupt dead soul board members.
