Layoffs are underway at Netflix today. About 150 positions out of the streamer’s workforce of 11,000 are being eliminated amid a slowdown in the company’s revenue growth.
They are largely based in the U.S., with a significant portion in creative, across both film and TV, sources said. A number of those laid off are in the executive ranks, including in original content

“As we explained on earnings, our slowing revenue growth means we are also having to slow our cost growth as a company. So sadly, we are letting around 150 employees go today, mostly US-based,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline. “These changes are primarily driven by business needs rather than individual performance, which makes them especially tough as none of us want to say goodbye to such great colleagues. We’re working hard to support them through this very difficult transition”.

When US workers try to push their woke BS like they did with the Chapelle show, they put themselves on the chopping block. Overseas workers are cheaper AND smart enough not to bite the hand that feeds them.
How does Netflix need 11k employees?
Yes wokeism may have played a part, but people are getting destroyed by Biden’s crappy economy and the first things that are going to go is non-essential stuff like streaming services and ordering out for dinner. Netflix was woke all through the 2010s and nobody really cancelled then.

In fact, many tech companies are filled with Indian nationals here on work visas that spew all of that woke bull***t on a daily basis. Woke is not just a U.S.A. thing and in fact was made in Germany, perfected in the U.K. and imported to the U.S.A.

A friend works for a large tech company; they are having an all employee meeting tomorrow. I know of another company that is having their “meetings” on Friday.
Companies have to cut massive expenses and the only way to do that is cut people.
This summer is going to surprise a lot of people.
The last time there was a tech contraction, recruiting & staffing calls stopped almost overnight.

You’re right. Almost all tech workers vote Democrat. They got what they voted for.
I’m curious: How many of these layoff meetings (and that’s what they are) are for Blockchain related concerns?
