Turkey is NATO because of strategic geography. That’s it. A jumping off point for US forces into southern EU, middle east and Northern Africa. Best place for airbases, except for that whole “the country is run by muzzie nutcases” thing.
There ARE actual strategic considerations beyond “Putin is the New Hitler” that permeates most discussions on this forum.
