Comparing the first nine full months of the pandemic (i.e., April-December 2020), at which time, for all practical purposes, no one in the U.S. had been vaccinated, to the same nine months in 2021, during which time millions of Americans had been vaccinated, we see that, for those below the age of 65, COVID deaths increased by 50% in the April-December 2021 time period, compared to 2020.
Breaking this down by specific age cohort, we see this:
Age 0-17 - an increase of 156%
Age 18-29 - an increase of 124%
Age 30-39 - an increase of 133%
Age 40-49 - an increase of 90%
Age 50-64 - an increase of 33%
A reduction in COVID deaths in April-December 2021, compared to April-December 2020, was realized only in those age cohorts 65 and above. Specifically:
Age 65-74 - a decrease of 14%
Age 75-84 - a decrease of 42%
Age 85+ - a decrease of 62%
"All cause" mortality, comparing April-December 2020 to April-December 2021, reflects this same bifurcation between the younger and older age cohorts, with each cohort below the age of 75 showing an increase in 2021 compared to 2020:
Age 0-17 - an increase of 7%
Age 18-29 - an increase of 4%
Age 30-39 - an increase of 15%
Age 40-49 - an increase of 14%
Age 50-64 - an increase of 6%
Age 65-74 - an increase of 2%
Only in those cohorts age 75 and above was there a decrease in "all cause" mortality in April-December 2021 compared to April-December 2020:
Age 75-84 - a decrease of 5%
Age 85+ - a decrease of 13%
It seems to me that any assessment of the public health response to the pandemic must take into account, and take account of, the foregoing data. These are deaths we're talking about. Not infections. Not hospitalizations. Deaths.
Are we to conclude, based on these data, that the results of the public health response to the pandemic is what we were hoping to achieve?

It is too bad that these statistics are not readily available so the public could become fully informed about such important health issues as Covid and vaccine risks.
I would be surprised if the percentage of over 80’s who died from/with Covid was as high in 2021 as it was in 2020. It seems reasonable that the early wave of Covid swept away a huge percentage if the very frail elderly who were already near death.
Covid-19 is here to stay. It’ll continue to lower our life expectancy. Elderly and the vulnerable will continue to die from it. Our modern medicine helps but this is a formidable enemy.
Dr. Fauci is not completely honest. He has an agenda.
It should be more like "children shouldn't get vaccinated, if you are a young adult, up to you, if you are middle aged adult, I'll advise strongly for you to get it, for the elderly, it should be mandated" and back it up with statistics. Dr. Fauci prefers to mislead us so he'll manipulate us into getting the vaccines. The problem is that the American public starts to lose trust. So this is the wrong approach here. Just my two cents.
