Actor Alec Baldwin — who is still facing fallout from the shooting death on the set of the movie Rust — is now pushing for the removal of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) from office, calling him a “traitorous Democrat.”
Alec Baldwin called for Manchin’s removal in a recent tweet in which the actor claimed the senator is more dangerous that the “unhinged Republican” — presumably a reference to former President Donald Trump and his supporters.

That’s up to the voters of West Virginia. And Alec, you might like the replacement even less.

It's not surprising that a person who refuses to take responsibility for shooting a woman, wants abortions to be available for when men like him knock up a woman and refuse to take responsibility for the child.

Alec Baldwin: Remove ‘Traitorous Democrat’ Sen. Joe Manchin
I'm all for that. But democrats need to do it now, not in an election.
Alec Baldwin is not a thinker, because, if Manchin is out, he will be replaced by a republican, and democrats won't control the senate.
So, democrats need to listen to brainless Baldwin.

Senate leadership posts tend to be for life and to have dynastic aspects because of the power that they have over the careers of their members. My guess is that Manchin wants more from McConnell and the Senate GOP members than they are willing to give. What would Manchin want? Probably a committee chairmanship, pork, and commitments on substantive legislation.
I get the sense that McConnell and the Senate GOP do not especially like Manchin and may prefer to let the Democrats pillory him enough to drive him to the GOP or for the next election to deliver enough GOP seats to make his vote unnecessary. Like most small and select clubs, there are times when Senate internal politics makes as much sense as a pot of crabs all trying to climb and get on top of each other.
