Actually, they have been trying to put mesh around the turrets to preemptively detonate antitank rockets before they hit the turret, because most of their tanks are missing reactive armor systems. The mesh doesn’t really seem to work though.

What's interesting to me is the additional armor placed on Russian tanks. The armor is in the form of rather smallish rectangular packages some how fastened to the tanks surface.
