Free Speech Failure Jack Dorsey: Twitter Blacklisting Donald Trump Was a ‘Business Decision’

Twitter co-founder and free speech failure Jack Dorsey recently agreed with Elon Musk after the Tesla CEO said that the platform’s decision to ban former President Donald Trump permanently was “morally wrong and flat out stupid.” According to Dorsey, he blacklisted Trump after making a “business decision.”

Business Insider reports that Twitter founder Jack Dorsey recently agreed with Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s statement that banning former President Donald Trump from Twitter was a mistake. Musk plans to acquire Twitter for $44 billion and confirmed this week that he would reinstate Trump’s account if the deal goes ahead.

During an interview, Musk said that he had spoken to Dorsey about permanent bans on Twitter. Musk stated: “He and I are of the same mind that permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots or spam scam accounts.”

Dorsey then confirmed that he agreed with Musk, stating in a tweet: “There are exceptions (CSE [child sexual exploitation], illegal behavior, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work.”

there are signs that he was kind of just a figurehead. Although, I think he also agreed with the ban.

Musk’s Twitter deal is in real jeopardy right now because of the TSLA stock price.

I hope he bails. The stock tanks. They were exposed for what they were...and let the chips fall where they may.

He would probably have an out after finding the real details like their subscriber numbers were inflated

How was this a “business decision”? Or do we need to wait for Musk to disclose everything, which he hopefully will, once he owns the company?

Once you pierce the censorship veil at Twitter and the other tech platforms, there were no algorithms other than seat of the pants censorship by liberal folk in a room. Google probably is the biggest violator and will not reveal their search algorithms because their search biases will be revealed. China did well in selecting them to manage the censorship on Chinese search engines

Yeah, when people just get to decide which things are crimes and pull charges out of their butts.

Sometimes people who do really stupid things actually learn from their mistakes. Sometimes they don't, and it isn't easy to tell the difference.

But I think there is at least a legit possibility this is genuine.

It was a political decision, a radical one at that.

So, then the rest of us should be jailed for the way we treat the current President?

I trust Musk on what he’s doing. You dont get to be the richest person in the world just by playing it safe.

“They were exposed for what they were”

that’s already redundant, everyone knew that before ;)

“How was this a “business decision”?”

Hmm, someone gave him a “ban Trump or we’ll go after your ad revenue” ultimatum maybe?

Business decision????

I suppose that the hitman was just making a 'business decision' too when he murdered for hire? And the bank robber simply made a 'business decision?'

Dorsey needs to be in jail ........

Why? Seems simple. They were satisfying the wishes of their leftist user base to keep twitter an echo chamber.

Did he like Trump? Did he do anything about shadow banning or the left-wing news headlines?

Dorsey? No but Trump certainly was not good for business at Twitter was he? Propaganda is big business. Elections to steal...fake news to promote...etc
