Sometimes they only make the ingredients and ship the finished powder to the cartels for finishing into pill form. Other times they ship the finished pills to the cartels.
Since the CCP itself is a criminal organization, it looks the other way at the docks. As long as the government gets it’s share.
It’s the dealers that are putting it into their drugs, esp. heroin, because it’s cheaper.
Drug counseling places are handing out fent. test kits along with narcan now so the junkies can test their next hit for the stuff.
I had a similar line of thinking. The answer I found is that fentanyl pills are way cheaper to make than almost any other drug because it only takes a few micro grams to have an affect. Because of this drug dealers have a huge profit incentive to sell fentanyl pills or to dilute traditional drugs and make up the “high” by adding it in. With such high profits losing a few customers here and there isn’t really an issue.

No, it didn’t come from a pharmacy. There are all sorts of ways to screen out counterfeit drugs from the supply chain. There are different invisible inks, radioisotopes in varying concentrations, microchips embedded in cartons etc. It’s a big area of research in pharmaceutical packaging.
I know a guy who lost both his son and daughter to heroine overdoses during the Obama years. So sad as both children made it through college, but died within a couple of years of each other. When I was in school back in the 80’s most everyone had enough common sense to never ever try heroine.
I have compassion for the parents. But ultimately, somebody has to think it’s a good idea to take this stuff into their body.
Their son, the aspiring astronaut, obviously didn’t want to kill himself, but it doesn’t matter. He took the pill.
Maybe he was sad, maybe he was frustrated. There are lots of maybes. He took the pill.

You always read these things when it comes to oxy/fentanal heroin....it’s like the kid was just sitting there and some bully pushed the drug down his throat.
I knew in 6th grade drugs were bad, and i have never dabbled.

I tend to blame drug overdose deaths on the person who actually decides to obtain and take the drugs. I consider it internally consistent with blaming “gun violence” on the person who actually pulls the trigger rather than guns themselves.
I signed a large business deal with someone who enjoyed the Hunter lifestyle and did cocaine. I didn’t know of course or I would have never signed the deal. He flew back to Las Vegas and bought some cocaine. He didn’t know it was laced with fentanyl and died that night.
