A few states banned abortion in all cases (including hardship cases like rape, life of mother, incest). The idea is they thought it was easier to challenge Roe and Casey at the SCOTUS level on the basis of the personhood of the baby. The personhood argument is watered down if you say it's okay to abort for hardship cases, so ban abortion altogether to make the case that the baby is important enough to not be aborted.

A few of the vocal proponents in each state for this strategy said they'll through back in the hardship case allowance if Row/Casey is overturned.

LOL! It’s not that big of a deal and even a lot of pro-abortion folks are, or should be, happy to see it go. Roe v Wade should never have been brought anywhere near our Constitution. Over time, I’ve grown to see it as a foot in the door for socialized medicine - and that’s all it was. “We will force doctors to do things that they morally object to.” Touted as being “for the poor and ethnic minorities,” it has only made the problems of poverty a whole lot worse; it facilitates human trafficking, incest, and sexual abuse, making it a whole lot easier for felons to hide the evidence of their crimes. And ethnic minorities abort their kids at record rates. (I’m still wondering how it was supposed to help them in the first place - but let’s face it, it wasn’t supposed to help. As Margaret Sanger so famously remarked, it’s supposed to keep minorities, especially blacks, down.)

It enabled the atrocity of Planned Parenthood and paved the way for doctors and nurses to be turned into government employees. As has been noted before on this board, the language in this bill was always weak and to open to interpretation. The people protesting the end of Roe barely understand what it is or what it’s supposed to do.

And, like others have also commented, in another generation or so Roe v Wade will be a complete anachronism. No one will care about it anymore. A lot of the hysteria is hyped and over-inflated. The protests are organized and financed by the Left, of course, who are only interested in stirring up trouble for people of conscience.

There are multiple fronts in the WAR over infanticide. Right now though, the battle is over who has constitutional authority over abortion ....state legislatures or federal courts. The constitution is crystal clear on this subject. Win this battle or you won’t get to fight the other battles.

Absolutely. And those 80% have a much greater opportunity to have their voices heard at the STATE level. And a much shorter drive to make if they DO want to paint up a sign and march. Our founders were brilliant. Wish we'd listen to them.

If they don't like it, pass a danged amendment. There's "80% of them". Shouldn't be a problem.
