From the article: “ They can’t keep up with filters, so when they wake up in the morning and check their phone, the first thing they see is hate. Then they are constantly pinged all day long with more hate. They can’t sit and enjoy a dinner with friends because of the incessant interruptions.”

It’s astonishing that people INVITE this intrusion into their daily lives.

......................................................
That statement should be the first sentence of an entire psychological treatise. I say that because I have for years tried very hard to EXCLUDE from my life any and all intrusions which I’ve determined will be in any way detrimental to the physical and mental health of myself and my family. In doing so I’ve come to realize the great wisdom of religious groups like the Amish, the Mennonites, and others dedicated to what some refer to as “the simple life”. I’ve met many such people who have never left the county where they were born, AND NEVER CARED TO EITHER! I explain to friends and family that when I was a kid our family knew very little about what was going on outside our community, and didn’t care to know either. And actually I still feel much the same way today.
