Admiral Makarov is an Admiral Grigorovich-class frigate of the Russian Navy, part of the Black Sea Fleet based at Sevastopol. She was laid down at the Yantar Shipyard in February 2012 and commissioned on 25 December 2017. robbed from wiki

Apparently, storms cause Russian naval vessels to burst into flames.

If they were smart, that would be the case. But the battleship admirals were very slow to give up their battleships. And the cavalry generals were very slow to give up their cavalry divisions.
So unfortunately, it will probably take much more blood before the lesson here is learned.

The way to hope. Wouldn’t bet that way, am sure that many sailors died with the impact of the missiles. Hopefully those that survived the initial impacts were able to get out alive.

Great movie on that topic --
The Great War of Archimedes, a 2019 Japanese historical film about the building of the battleship Yamato. Based on a novel by Norifusa Mita, the movie is a fictionalized telling of the political maneuvers, specifically around budget and cost issues, that led to the decision to build the Yamato.
It's really about aircraft carriers vs. battleships.

One would hope. However people who have an inordinate faith in defensive weaponry currently dominate the US Navy. The era of surface naval combatants may be over, finished by the silicon chip and other tech modalities, but much blood will be shed before this reality becomes consensus.

Thank you for the reference. Movie only? Or as a book?
