FFormer Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke Friday on the “national security concerns” he had about Republican Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.
“[Dr. Oz] engaged in the Turkish political process. That raises, in my mind, lots of judgments about his priorities,” Pompeo said in a phone call to reporters. (RELATED: Dr. Oz’s Work For Turkish Airlines May Violate Federal Lobbying Law, Advocacy Group Claims)
Oz maintains Turkish citizenship and cast a ballot in the country’s 2018 presidential election, ABC News reported. He had previously said he has “never been politically involved in Turkey in any capacity.”
Pompeo, who is backing David McCormick, former U.S. under secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and CEO of Bridgewater Associates, said his reservations with Oz were “separate and apart from politics.”
“These are pathetic and xenophobic attacks on Dr. Oz by David McCormick, who should be ashamed of himself. Now that he lost President Trump’s endorsement, he’s resorted to sad and desperate attacks that are no different than the tropes used against Catholics and Jews,” Brittany Yanick, an Oz campaign spokesperson, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement.
“Dr. Oz has already said when elected to the Senate he would renounce his citizenship. There is no security issue whatsoever, and David McCormick knows that Dr. Oz has maintained his dual citizenship to make it easier to help care for his mother who has Alzheimer’s and lives there,” she said.

Oz was a cardiologist at Columbia Presbyterian. I am always skeptical of a doctor who quits practicing, especially at one of the top hospitals in the world, to go on Oprah and opt for a reality TV show.
Oz is a moslem, has dual citizenship, a doctor who accepts ‘transgender’ as a normal behavior, and chose money over medicine. He has NO place in Congress.
I know 2 Conservatives here in PA who went to see Oz in person. They were impressed. He’s saying everything conservatives want to hear. I don’t trust him at all.
Many in the base are extraordinarily cheap dates. Just learn to speak MAGA and you’ll get fierce defenders instantly.
I agree. Neither Oz nor McCormick are supportable by those who believe in the constitution.
Barnette is the only one who is a true constitutionalist and polling shows her within the margin of error for the lead.
We must turn out for good candidates like Barnette or they will stop running for office in Pennsylvania.

My fear is a vote for Barnette, the best candidate, will get McCormick in as the candidate and he is the worst of the 3.

This issue aside, I’m not at all impressed by Oz’s attempt to portray himself as a conservative. He’s not and never has been even slightly to the right.
Oz is a liberal. From abortion to sex changes for children, to same sex marriage, he’s been for it all ….and recent. He’s also a globalist who’s made a fortune off China and still does. Trump endorsed him because he’s a celebrity and thinks he can beat the democrat. The two women running are better than the three men. If I voted in PA I would probably vote for the blonde who used to be
Trump’s ambassador to Denmark.

This will injure Mike’s future political career.Trump endorsd 22 primary candidates and all of them won....Pompeo’s Group is feeling the pressure.Obviously Mike’s group is not alligned with President Trump who has taken a lot of flack over the OZ endorsement. But Oz was early in on revealing the failure of the FDA to promote therapy using Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquin as early Covid intervention recommended by the Front Line Critical care Alliance and others back in 2020.. Oz is an anti swamper and a good man for a Trump Senate despite other sins he may have committed.
