> The legal case was the recognition of the contract from state to state.

That is pretty different from one state recognizing or not recognizing the past fact of a murder (of a baby).

But this really has to go back to the states.

Which will make the split more evident.

States are going to have to not recognize invalid marriages from some other states.

That is pretty inconvenient, but not as bad as being forced to recognize bufu boys as being husband and wife.

They want to keep killing black babies and a few white ones too so there is room for all the illegals coming in to replace us.

why not ban plate techtonics? The EPA has already suspended the first and second laws of thermodynamics with their absurd CAFE standards

It’s entirely possible that the Court could overturn anything short of an Amendment to the Constitution.

That’s how the system works.

That it has taken this long to remove the ‘penumbra’ of legality that the Burger Court decreed as its ability to do this nation-wide is almost unreal! Consider the difference between 1973 and today, just in birth control! The ridiculous conceit that overturn of ‘Roe’ will result in travel bans and back-alley / clothes hanger alternatives is absurd!

The overturn will return the decisions to the Federal States where it has belonged since the Constitution! Will I regret that there will still be these actions? YES! But now it will be those states to take that burden as they choose it.

Thank you. That post of yours boils the issue right down to the essence of it.

Not that it will make a whit of difference to the hyperventilating Left.

The legal case was the recognition of the contract from state to state.

That's why it should be up to the states to define "marriage". No one was getting their rights denied. That said, all 50 states should recognize "marriage".

But traditional marriage as we know it, that shouldn't be up to your church to recognize it. Two different things. Religious marriage. Civil union.

The Supreme Court was wrong. Especially when we did not have a Constitutional amendment on "marriage".

Idiocy. Courts don’t ban anything, they let the states and people decide.

Is that a NJ state trooper or a MA state trooper?

No. It is simply returning it to the state legislatures. Abortion will not be banned. It will be geographically restricted. Many states will ban it outright. Many states will permit it. Some will extend it to Governor Newsom’s desire for legal infanticide.

Alito’s analysis of the Abortion “right” would also hold for the Same-Sex Marriage “right.” There is no “right” for either of these concepts in the Constitution. There is no history of these being acceptable practices in the whole of the United States. Power not enumerated to the Federal government is reserved to the States. And “settled law” does not mean it stays settled forever. There are plenty of instances where “settled law” is later overturned.

I’d TOTALLY support the complete ban on ‘gay marriage’; indeed, homosexuality itself ought to be a felony punishable by lashes, at minimum. If it involves a minor, homosexuality ought to be punishable by DEATH by hanging.

Fake news as usual.

The draft opinion expressly distinguishes its result and reasoning for rejecting Roe from the cases/issues CNN is frothing about. Because the other cases/issues do not involve a baby.

Not only did the court legally distinguish those other cases, they also said in plain language that this holding is limited to enabling states to regulate abortion and should not be read to cover other issues.

"Typical hysteria from CNN."

Thank you for posting from occupied ga.

Since Roe v. Wade is a scandal imo, modern Supreme Court corruption traceable back to the ill-conceived 17th Amendment (17A) imo, consider what's motivating CNN.

The real question is, how many high-dollar commercials will CNN / FN sell from this media-manufactured, 17A-rooted abortion crisis?

Insights welcome.

It’s the amendments to the Constitution - especially the first ten - that the left is working tirelessly to get rid of. Already the 2nd is gone. If you have to get the government’ s permission (Brady background check) to exercise a right, then you DON’T HAVE A RIGHT. You have a privilege. The fifth amendment was seriously compromised, and they’re doeing their evil best to get rid of the first (hate speech ,etc. hate speech being anything that contradicts their bullsh**)
