In a direct threat to the West Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged "lightning" fast strikes on any nation that "interferes" with Russia's war in Ukraine.
"If anyone ventures to intervene from the outside and [pose] unacceptable threats of a strategic nature to Russia, they should know that our counter-retaliatory strikes will take place with lightning speed," he said.

If it is observed, yes. Stealth capability would certainly add an
Interesting dynamic. It would also be tough with an offshore launch
If that is possible.
“They have stuff we don’t know about, you can bank on it, I for one just say to mind our business and we have no business there.”
Yup. Same idiots here who are laughing at this direct threat now, will become hysterical and scream, “Unprovoked attack! Nuke them!!!” after it happens.
Same idiots who kept poking the bear right before the Ukraine invasion. And say, “More sanctions!!!” while bitching about inflation. And say, “More weapons to Ukraine!!!” while griping about gas prices and (soon) food shortages.
It’s like they have no concept of actions bring consequences.
Earth to idiots: Putin practices the “Hot Stove” theory of management. Look it up.
After seeing the fiasco in Ukraine, I don’t think the world has much to fear from Russia
>> How far past expiration are Potassium Iodide tablets still good?
They are pretty much useless in a nuclear fallout scenario regardless. They only protect your thyroid against accumulation of very specific radioisotope (I-131) and don’t provide any protection against anything else, like the ambient gamma radidation level. None whatsoever.
KI is only useful in a civilian reactor accident scenario. Anything else is hype and snake oil.
There are real radioprotective compounds, but they are not generally available to civilians, even their names are hard to find in open literature in the West. Surprisingly, Russian civil defense textbooks mention a few.
They never gave up on the idea of civil defense, like we did by the end of 1960’s. Every apartment building built until hte 90’s had a fallout shelter. Real useful to the Ukrainians in cities now.
