To be a constant contrarian, what business is it of the United States? Yes, I can understand the geopolitical ramifications of China militarizing the Solomon Islands, but how can we in one breath say that something happening 3600 miles from us is a red-line that cannot be crossed while at the same time denying Russia the right to intervene on its own borders?
How about no one has bases like this?
Why won’t the U.S. get on board with that?
There are knuckleheads here who cannot understand what you just said. That space in their brain does not comprehend it. T
Russia invaded a country that was not and could not threaten them in any way. Even if Ukraine had joined NATO, nobody was invading Russia.
China has no business or reason to put a base on the Solomon Islands except to use it to threaten, harass or otherwise invade Australia and other nations in the Pacific.
Yes the Solomon islands are a sovereign nation, but let us be honest they are only a sovereign nation because the United States freed them and allow them to maintain their sovereignty. They are completely incapable of remaining sovereign if it were not for the protection that the United States provides. If a nation cannot control its borders and defend itself then it is only a nation because others choose to let it be.
Can’t help you friggin idiots who don’t understand that Russia and China are a threat to our security. That means our lives and property.
We’re on this side. They’re on that side.
If you don’t understand that fundamental fact, no one should let you play with sharp objects.
