We should have spent the last 20 years strip mining the hell out of Afghanistan for rare Earth metals.

The Envirowackos’ dilemma. They need the lithium for their “green” cars, but they have to somehow get around the mining regulations that they put in place in order to get to it.

By the time all the permits and studies are done the battery chemistries will probably have moved along to something else.

The Dims who restrict our access to fossil fuels in the name of saving the earth will do the same with lithium and other rare-earth's.
It's not about saving the earth. It never was. It's about control and money. Always has been. Always will be.

Mining will be devastating to the environment. Good! Let Americans compare and contrast oil wells to Lithium mines.

We know that the Maine mining laws are such that there’s not one single active mine in Maine
—
Nor will there ever be. Environmental wackos and NGOs will see to it.

What are they planning on doing? Mining the stomach walls of Massachusetts millionaire depressives with summer homes in Maine?

The “green” cars that require gigantic amounts of electric power generated by coal and hydrocarbons 🤪
After it’s all used up the batteries are toxic landfill material polluting till the end of time.

Yes, I spent four bleak years in Maine for college. Got to know the local talent well. A more obtuse, provincial bunch of locals I have never met anywhere else outside Appalachia.
