Shares of Netflix cratered more than 23% on Tuesday after the company reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers during the first quarter. It’s the first time the streamer has reported a subscriber loss in more than a decade.
The company also said it expects the losses to continue, forecasting a global paid subscriber loss of 2 million for the second quarter.
If more people were aware of the Cuties fiasco it would be worse than this. I mention this to people and it seems virtually no one other than us news junkies even knew about that.
They may be losing subscribers as people discover programming is available on numerous free streaming apps and even due to the old fashioned antenna with more DVRs being developed for antenna technology which allows you to keep the “on demand” aspect of viewing.
Russia, Russia, Russia!
I liked Netflix when I would get DVDs from them, burn them to DVD and send them back as quickly as possible so I could order more. I must have burned 500 DVDs that way and could watch them whenever I wanted
Have no use for them now.
They need to make their shows more woke. That will bring the viewers back.
If hes a director why would he need a house in Las Gatos?
No, not intentionally.
They capitalize and expense the cost of their productions over many years. Their balance sheet has a lot of air.
Okay. One of their most popular shows was House of Cards.
Wow they certainly lost me in January and even after I canceled my account they kept charging me so I had to call back and get it canceled again. Way too much homo woke stuff
I’m getting ready to dump Netflix next month. Maybe go with prime.
Hasn’t Obama sumpin’ to do with that outfit...
With the rise of inflation, people will start to cut expenses.
Netflix’ so called “documentary” on the gang rape of the Central Park jogger was cherry picked propaganda absolving the black thugs wilding in Central Park that night of this horrific crime.
I dropped them when Netflix ran that racist apology for gang rape.
Way too much homegrown content on the Obama/Rice Network.
Forgot about that one.
Then there was Cuties and other similar filth, To Make Murderer, and other “documentaries” that were just propaganda that cherry picked a lot of key facts.
can you spell obama documentary ?
I never missed cable TV but I did have Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu.
Over the past 18 months, I cancelled all three of those. I don't miss them either.
I have many free channels on my Roku supported by advertising with more content then I could watch in a lifetime. I don't mind the commercials as this is what allows you to watch the content for free. This is the way the TV business model worked for decades.
Special mention to YouTube which is now showing scores of full length movies with ads. For example, I watched "What About Bob" the other night for free on YouTube. The video quality was amazing. It did have ads but allows you to skip them after about 30 seconds or so.
Nobody needs to subscribe to Netflix unless they either can't tolerate commercials or they feel the original content is worth paying for.
Crap programming, woke policies, politically correct workplace / employees, rate hikes, content pulled by the majors, and no plan for the future.
I have Prime it stinks too. They all stink. A bunch of third rate movies you have never heard of most over 20 years old.
The only Prime movie I found in the last two months worth watching was Tombstone from the 1980s.
#13 my mistake
Netflix HQ is in Los Gatos.
