McCarthy sees no one challenging his leadership in next Congress
The Washington Times ^ | Sunday, April 17, 2022 | By Kerry Picket

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Sunday he sees no fellow Republicans willing to challenge his leadership if the GOP takes the chamber’s majority next year.

“I’ve never seen our party more united. We’re not focused on individuals. We’re focused on the country first and the policies,” Mr. McCarthy, California Republican, said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“Our problems are too big to fight among ourselves and think so small. And that’s exactly what we’re doing — putting this country first to solve our problems,” he said.

The Republican Party is what it is. Attempting to light a fire under it, prod it into responsive action, or reform it is futile IMO.

With Kevin McCarthy there is no leadership. Only surrender. The Republicans had a Leader. President Donald J. Trump. They got rid of him pronto. Plus when they had him, they fought and backs stabbed him every step of the way. “Leaders” such as Kevin McCarthy, who cannot lead a starving man to a plate of food is what the Republicans want. The Republicans enjoy being the whipping boy for the Democrats. The Republicans take great pride in assisting the Democrat Party destroy the United States of America from within. Which, should one take the time to look around and see what is actually happening, they have almost succeeded. They have corrupted all of our Institutions. They have corrupted all of our Professions. The Law of Nature they are in the process of corrupting by so-called “transgenderism.” The Law of Physics they cannot corrupt, so they are trying to do away with it by getting rid of teaching mathematics in the schools. In this they will succeed as the population is further dumbed down.

Yup!
The game is rigged.

Even if you wish to donate to a particular candidate. If that candidate is an incumbant, a certain percentage of his/her campaign money is tithed to the party to be distributed among whomever the party deems worthy...this ALWAYS includes the people we are trying to get rid of.

Keep re-electing the same Assistant Democrats like the 145 that voted for Liz Cheney in Feb 2021 and you’ll get the same Assistant Democrat leadership.

Absolutely true. The GOP siphoned off a lot of money that was donated to Trump.

So, you vote out the RINOS in the primary. You go to local GOP county and state meetings participate and vote out the “country clubbers”. You do a “hostile takeover” just like Trump has told us to do. That's what we did here in WV. We still have some RINOS to get rid of like Capito, but many are gone it doesn't happen instantly. It takes work and personal participation. Local GOP organizations are crying for participation by the rank-n-file! If you participate you gain influence! Influence means change! It will not happen instantly! Everything begins at the local level - state legislators, county commissioners, school boards, etc. A good start is vote out the existing school board, next run for school board yourself!

The two biggest problems in WV are:

1. Keeping formerly good conservatives (like McKinley) who after 10+ years in office go RINO. I'll be voting against him in the primary.

2. Thanks to years of being under Byrd, too many WV’ians love their government cheese. They think they can't do without federal pork. That's a cultural and generational thing. It will take years to work itself out. Keeping it from being reenforced by RINOS such as Capito and now McKinley is an on-going battle. That's the kind of problems that keep McConnell in office. Kentuckians like WV’ians love their “pork-n-cheese”! The good news is time will soon be taking care of McConnell.

However, standing around and complaining, expecting others to do something, dreaming of a “magical” third or 4th or 5th party to solve things accomplishes nothing.

The country is about evenly divided, all you have to do is look at the Congressional split to see that. So, I will use a 50-50 split to make my point. You take our 50% and subtract from it a 3rd party etc. 50% - “some X%” that is not greater than the Rat 50%! No matter how good 3rd party thoughts make you feel division of numbers in the face of the enemy guarantees defeat!

I get dozens of messages from the RINO party and the RINO congressional leadership. Sometimes they get a reply that says “Fire Kevin”, etc.

And there is all you need to know that today’s GOP is not the legitimate home to patriotism and conservatism. We are homeless.

What leadership? The guy is a wimp, gives Trump lip service and does nothing, IF republicans take control in mid terms McCarthy’s first proclamation will be to be bipartisan and work with the democrats

So tell us Kevin....What are you going to do about the one thing you actually have control over and which is the most destructive force to our country and it’s rule of law....

THE FBI AND THE INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES SKIRTING THE LAW AND ACTING AS AN ATTACK DOG FOR THE DEEP STATE.

From illegal political deals to COVID to Ukraine to the 2020 election to censorship to uncontrolled spending....the FBI and the Intelligence agencies have been running cover for the bad guys the whole time. Without their protection, it wouldn’t be possible.

Thank you for the thoughtful and reasoned reply. I always enjoy reading constructive comments like yours. That said, allow me to state an opposing view. ;)

Regardless of what happens at the local/state levels it is very difficult to change things on a national level given the entrenched coterie that runs the RNC/NRSC. They have a deeply embedded connection to the Swamp. It is, after all, the place where they live, work, play and derive their comfortable lifestyles from. Make no mistake, these people view their function as supporting monied interests and flipping newly arrived pols into party loyalists. Believe me, its a lot easier to do than you might think. In fact, its the one thing (flipping) that the RNC/NRSC is very good at doing. In any event, this sad cycle plays out again and again and again. Trust me, its a fact of life in DC.

As you may have surmised, I simply don’t believe the party can be reformed. Even the great Reagan, the formidable Tea Party movement and DJT couldn’t change or re-direct it. They party simply doesn’t want to change.

If you look at GOP “leadership” you have to ask yourself why the rank and file permits such resistance to exist? Well, they do because its what they want. Again, they could easily change it, but they don’t.

I fully realize the problematic aspects of a third party movement. But what do you do when the one choice you have fails again and again? You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Do you keep buying a defective product from the same company? No, you look for better ones to spend your precious money on. In this regard, I believe that if the GOP were to be suddenly replaced by a REAL party it would be abandoned overnight by millions of voters who are fed up with the lying and backstabbing and want REAL LEADERSHIP. Leadership can change everything.

I’m struck by the number of people I know and read comments from who have completely lost all faith in the GOP to serve its voters. Its an indictment of an ossified and unresponsive party.

People want something they can believe in. Predictably, the next Republican congress will disappoint once again. Some things never change.

The Republicans’ favorite word seems to be “bi-partisan”.

Their second favorite is “compromise”.

Both words really mean CAPITULATE.
