Or How Twitter undermines freedom.
May Doge save us.
There is finally a viable solution to restoring freedom culture online, and his name is Elon Musk. The famous debonair Tesla billionaire, made it clear on Thursday in a TED Talk of his intention to own a majority stake in Twitter, and enact free speech reforms for our unofficial public town square. Users of the platform are overwhelming pleased at this potential development, but the media and the establishment have lost their ever-loving minds. With some claiming that this could be the end of democracy! Of course, like usual, they are wrong. Despite the poison pill plan put up by Twitter’s board and the media conniption fit; Elon should do all he can to buy Twitter, and here’s why.
Brrr App:
The madness got going after Musk, who recently bought a significant stake of 9.2% in Twitter, and after refusing an offer to go on the board, announced his intention to own a majority stake in the company. Musk offered to buy the company’s shares at a much higher than market value, at $54.20 per share. However, like we had learned last week with the freakout inside the company, those on the Twitter board do not want to let our favorite South African set the brrr app free. The board has now announced a poison pill plan, and the stock of course is plummeting as a result. Thankfully so far, the Doge King refuses to be denied.

[Dear Elon Musk, For the Sake of the Freedom of Speech in our Public Town Square, buy Twitter ASAP!]
If he’s allowed to. I think forces are terribly concerned he can pull it off and they’d like to block that.
If Musk does buy Twitter, I would not be surprised if Apple & Google delete their Twitter phone apps to limit usage to only laptop users.
Yeah, Musk being successful would definitely throw a monkey wrench into their plans.
You are not keeping up with current events.
Elon buying Twitter has been declared terrorism, AND an insurrection. He was arrested in a predawn SWAT raid and is being held in the DC jail. They’re going over his immigration documents, his marriage, his divorce, his hygiene report from his dentist, and his vaccination records. By tomorrow, Google searches with his name will return no results. All Teslas in the US no longer start. And they’re just starting... /s
Sundance pointed out on CTH yesterday that owning Twitter doesn’t solve the problem, because their algorithm runs on Google and maybe US Govt. servers, not on their own. Try to reform it, and it’ll be deplatformed. Furthermore, the algorithm has no economies of scale, so setting up independent servers is horrifically expensive.
Is there a billionaires club?
Is there some reason to see musk on the side of conservatism?
The problem for Joe Biden is that the numbers are in the tank. The media hiding info isn’t working out so well. It is getting out on all the alternative sources.
And now someone wants to bring us back together into one big happy twitter family.
Things that make me go: ...hmmmmm
Not going to stop Musk.
There are plenty of ways to work round that.
Musk is very smart and very powerful. He has a lot of options in this Twitter business including creating a better one.
Up to one third of Twitter users follow Musk and he generates more buzz than most of the top 10 on Twitter. Sad for Twitter if he takes most of his followers to his own platform.
If phone apps are deleted & not available, it doesn’t matter how smart Musk is as it will have a significant negative impact.
Ultimately, that’s one of the insurance policies of the Deep State - eliminate 100% usage of Twitter phone apps.
It's a very simple matter to put the Twitter app on the Twitter site for Android, iPhone etc users to download. Gab has done that with no problem.
Applications were regularly downloaded long before these app stores even existed.
You think you can stop Musk by removing his apps from app stores?
You can't.
Ultimately, that's one of the insurance policies of the Deep State - eliminate 100% usage of Twitter phone apps.
It's no insurance policy for anything.
You cannot eliminate even 1% of the usage of Twitter through app store removal let alone 100%.
Can you just wake up and drink the coffee already?
Twitter is dying. And if you walk down any street in the US and ask people you will find almost no one cares.
Folks getting worked up over this need to put their phones down and go for a walk.
I want Musk to buy the company. I think Trump should announce that he wants to buy twitter. Just the announcement will send those liberal snowflake heads spinning and make the stock plunge. Please, Trump, make that announcement!
Any reports of the employee meeting that was held???
Musk is triggering them ALL.
Musk is playing 3D chess & the rest are playing tiddly winks.
The board already passed a poison pill and Blackrock, Vanguard and Morningstar are going to make an offer Twitter can’t refuse.
The rest are playing with themselves.
The issue is that adding a new user costs money in direct proportion to the number of followers, tweets, comments, images etc posted by that one new user. Its not your standard BB like FR. Every change must be reflected to all others.
You make a comment on FR and some one might respond, but those that don’t see it are unaffected. It would be something like every user on FR would see your comment and all of the comments made about your comment.
That’s serious server power, costing lots of money - much more than the few pathetic ads on Twit bring in. So somewhere there is a hidden backbone Twit is accessing. Who owns it? The US Gov? The CCP? Someone Else?
A good reason to get rid of Apple & Google they are not the only sited in dodge.
In the long run, it works out better for any non woke company to have its users download their app from their own web site than from Google Play.
You have vastly more freedom to run your business as you see fit, rather than take far left diktat from Google.
After the initial cost of setting it up, you pretty much cost along.
