Now ask yourself, why has the plane wreckage never been returned to Poland after 12 years, if this was an accident? We should all trust Putin right? And what does this say about former E.U. head Tusk?
It was that pesky center fuel tank again!
Read the accident report. Such claims are sheer lunacy.it was a classic combination of Polish incompetence, Russian incompetence, bad weather, and serious VIP interference with the crews decision making.
I find it very suspicious that these “findings” took 12 years years to be determined/released, and they are released right at a time of strong anti-Russian public sentiment. In fact, I would say this smells strongly of more anti-Russian propaganda. We are living in rotten times and the media is not to be trusted.
“In short, Russia invited the President of Poland, Lech Kaczynski, to attend a ceremony honoring WWII Polish officers executed by the Soviets in the Katyn Massacre near Smolensk.”
Actually, I’m more interested in why Putin was honoring the massacred Polish officers. Based on what I’ve read here and the media, shouldn’t Putin be CELEBRATING the ‘Great Achievement’ and having a national holiday instead?
The weather was very bad that day and the plane took off anyway.
No one can deny what happened at Katyn Wood during World War 2 when Stalin murdered thousands of Polish officers.
But the Poles were planning a major commemoration of the massacre that day and there was pressure on the crew to take off for the next planned stop.
theory at the time was they had been given bad nav info (they couldn’t see). there was a video floating around of a group on site just after the crash. poor quality. allegedly shows a survivor being shot.
" We are here to express our full solidarity with you,” Poland’s then-President Lech Kaczynski declared in an August 2008 speech in Tbilisi, Georgia. He called on the European Union and NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to meet Russia’s recent invasion of the former Soviet republic with resolute opposition.
“We know perfectly well that while today is time for Georgia, tomorrow it may be for Ukraine, then for the Baltic States, and later, perhaps, for my own country, Poland,” said Lech Kaczyński.
"The prescience of his (Lech Kaczyński – editor’s note) warning in Tbilisi remains unquestionable,” wrote O’Neal.
In Poland we’ve known Putin was behind it since 2010

The WWII death of Gen. Władysław Sikorski, popular leader of Poland in exile, also remains in dispute. His plane went down shortly after takeoff from Gibraltar, killing all onboard except the Czech pilot.
