Spot on. The same could be said of Poland, 1939, which had been independent of Russia less than 21 years at the time.
Zelensky may be no Churchill, but he certainly deserves credit where credit is due.

Churchill would make the short list for "greatest man of the 20th century" but he had his flaws. Zelensky doesn't have to walk on water to be viewed as doing for his country what Churchill did for the British in 1940.
Why are there no comparisons of Putin to Lincoln? Lincoln didn't recognize the right of the Confederate States to be an independent country. Putin doesn't recognize Ukraine's right to independence. Lincoln demonized the Southerners as "rebels." Putin demonizes the Ukrainians as "Nazis." It took Lincoln 4 years to conquer the South. Maybe four years from now Putin will have won and Kiev will look like Richmond did in April 1865.
