So what? That doesn’t give Putin the right to slaughter innocent civilians. It's well-known that the Ukrainian government/military was bombing Donbas starting in 2014. Those two areas want to be independent of Ukraine, and asked for protection from Russia. Why would Russia suddenly start killing the people that asked him for protection?
