Airlines have canceled more than 3,500 U.S. flights this weekend and delayed thousands more, citing weather in Florida and other issues.
FlightAware, a website that tracks flights, noted major disruptions at several Florida airports, including in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa and Orlando, as well as Baltimore, New York and other airports around the country. JetBlue, Southwest, Alaska Airlines, Frontier, Spirit and American Airlines were most affected, according to FlightAware, with JetBlue and Spirit canceling one-third of Sunday’s scheduled flights. Local news reported storms in Florida on Saturday. Several airlines said Sunday that operations are returning to normal.

DFW Is canceling flights right now. There are some nasty storms in the area. Hail likely hopefully no more tornadoes. Like two Monday’s ago. Looks like Alaska is in a contract dispute with its pilots too. Southwest hubs out of love field it too has storms inbound should get interesting this evening. I was gonna grab some hours out of KAD today but saw the weather was going to roll in and turn VMC to IMC no fun to go bumping around for giggles in IMC.
While you are correct about compensation involving weather, you are incorrect about airlines and cancelations always being the weather. Airlines will face massive fines for lying concerning the weather.
I’ve been in the aviation business 11 years. Don’t spread misinformation.

Here is the truth bud.
Thank you.
Firing or Retiring Pilots over the Vax Mandate finally catching up to the Airlines
One of the other airlines allowed that they were having problems getting enough flight crews to work. I think that this is probably closer to the truth. My wife’s flight to St. Croix via Miami was switched to Charlotte - St. Croix. But there weren’t enough seats on the other flight, so a couple of her friends were pushed to a flight leaving the next day (Sunday). Only that flight too was cancelled with the next being Tuesday. Half their vacation gone. The way goes these days in Post-Covid America.
We saw that also. Monkey Werx said he thought they were staging Assets all over the country. Now its real quiet. I believe we are in the end game.
Aww bullshit, people.
About two threads from here, it’s posted that a major solar eruption is going on. Evidently it could screw with all the dainty electronic stuff that keeps planes from dropping out of the sky.
1:30 PM would be a REALLY good time to start making arrests.
NCSWIC. Only question, is when.
My friend and instrument instructor were talking about this last night while flying home from Vegas, it is the Pilots and Flight Attendants instigating this with Quitting, walkouts and calling in sick over the stupid Mask Mandate and other Fauci Flu mandates put on the Airlines.
It will get much worse but since I have my own plane, I don’t care
It is my understanding that jabbed pilots are in violation of the medical FARs.
The current jabs are still under EUA. FAA medical FARs state that experimental drugs ‘SHALL’ not be used by pilots until 1 year after the drugs approval.
I asked my friend about that, he is head of the FAA safety committee, they issued a temporary waiver with a restriction from flying for a few weeks after taking the jab.
So, FAA ‘officially’ making up rules, as they go, to fit the agenda.
That is SMU, or ‘Something’ Made Up.
