Exactly. I bet many Eastern European countries occupied by the nazis fought on the side of the stalinists to expel Germany.
In fact I have met people from the Eastern blocked countries who considered the Russian soldiers to be heroes who liberated them.. Yet Stalin was every bit the oppressive mass murderer as Hitler.

"Yet Stalin was every bit the oppressive mass murderer as Hitler."

Numbers-of-own-citizens-dead wise, I think both Stalin and Mao were worse...

During and after WWII into the 50s
Ukrainians, UPA - Ukrainian Insurgent Army (called now Nazis) fought in the underground against Ukraine occupiers, first German NAZIs and later against Russian Red Nazis into 1950s. Finally in 1990 regained “guranteed” independence for disarming.
They purged Russian stooge Yanukovych in Maidan, kept fighting for Obama’s Crimea gift to Russians and now bleeding defending Mother Ukraine against Putin’s savages leveling the country.
Yep! Fricken NAZIS, for not loving being colonized by lunatic emperors.
Wake up America, Biden is working hard to dismantle this “white Nazi” country.

The reverse is also true. Many Ukraines fought with the Nazis to expel the Stalinists. The 1930s was an especially brutal time under Stalin (e.g., the artificial famine, the purges and show trials, the mass arrests, the rise of the gulags).
