A school district in Washington state has passed a new policy that critics say encourages administrators to factor in race when disciplining students.
The Clover Park School District board approved the new policy on a 3-2 vote on March 14, over the objections of board members who expressed concerns that it was ill-conceived.
The district in the suburbs of Tacoma will now use 'culturally responsive discipline' that encourages school staff to impose disciplinary policies that 'may be adapted to individual student needs in a culturally responsive manner.'
Critics say the new approach is in effect a race-based disciplinary policy that will encourage harsher or lighter punishments based on a student's race, with white students being disciplined more severely.
But the district insists that it is following a state law passed in 2021 that compels districts to 'align with Cultural Competency, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion standards.' ***

In general, white folks don’t seem inclined to stand up for themselves. The white guilt must be strong? This stuff will only get worse until or unless white people start pushing back.
Racism is good when we do it.
This is what caused the problem in Florida.
What this really means is that if you are black you can break the rules without consequences. That has been the goal all along.
If you are a parent and you love your children, you need to move out of that state NOW. At the very least you need to pull your kids out of public school.
What they really are saying: some races just can’t help themselves.
This is clear cut blatant racism. How the hell is this legal? How does this not violate civil rights?
Lets just get rid of all discipline, tired of this. /s
This crazy stuff is on the west side of the state. East of the Cascades, where I live, schools and people are still normal in the vast majority of cases.
We only have one culture. And it is a culture which expects every individual to behave himself.

That’s blatant racial discrimination.
Cases of that sort should be brought up to the courts, including the supreme court.
Are liberals admitting that blacks are more prone to criminal behaviors and should get a pass because of this inherent behavioral problem?

The Panama City Beach police chief was on the radio this morning. I loved what he said which was that the criminal in the PCB shooting was from Alabama and he was used to getting away with such criminal behavior, but he wasn’t going to get away with it in Florida with our minimum sentencing laws.
the problem is this stuff spreads like cancer. I can remember when Washington and Oregon were conservative. Then the insanity in CA spread upward.
We need separate but equal revisited.
Unintended obvious consequences.
In my elementary school years, Mrs. Willy indiscriminately handed out punishment with a wooden yard stick. You quickly learned to shut your mouth and pay attention.
