You’ve got me. I’m totally opposed... I mean, I could see it if something we saw, or anticipated seeing, gave us a military advantage of some kind over our enemies. But what could that possibly be? I just don’t believe there’s anything like that out there. For the most part we’ll be looking at natural processes that took place in the early universe, not instructions on how to build the biggest bomb ever... lol, imo.

They’re looking for evidence of KFC on other planets.

“Why?”
Because it has proven to be yet another colossal waste if time and money forcing them to make up phoney images in a hollyweird studio.

Telescope will study small galaxies orbiting the Milky Way... "False! Galaxies do not orbit the Milky Way!" (Said in my best Dwight Schrute voice.)

"We've selected more than a full year of science," Rigby said. That's not "science"; that's data collection. I'm sick of the Cult Of Science misapplying the word.

Galaxies do not orbit the Milky Way! Actually, some do; all part of The Local Group.
Most don't.

Giving fuel to the conspiracy theorists. But why cares? They're fun to mock.
"the star formation regions in the Magellanic Clouds". The largest star-forming region in the Local Group is the Tarantula Nebula in the LMC, where stars are simultaneously exploding and forming in a chain reaction. It would be interesting to get a close-in view of what's going on.

If Trump were still president the first thing it would look for would be Bammy’s birth certificate.

We dont want paranoia to be the cause of a first strike against us by the Myconids of Beta Brahe. They are a suspicious and tempered lot.
