Just a few weeks after Los Angeles gas prices reached $5 a gallon for the first time ever, the region has set another record, topping out at more than $6 for a gallon of regular unleaded, AAA reported Tuesday.
The average in the L.A.-Long Beach area now stands at $6.01 per gallon following 28 consecutive days of increases.
Fuel costs in the region are about 17 cents higher than they were a week ago and $1.22 more than they were a month ago, according to the Auto Club.
“Who knows what’s going to happen in another month or two,” one driver who talked to KTLA Tuesday morning said.
Prices are slightly cheaper as you head inland to San Bernardino, where the average price of gas is $5.90 per gallon. In Orange County, a gallon of regular unleaded stands at $5.87 per gallon.
Californians statewide are paying more than anyone in the nation for a gallon of gas, and by a lot.

On I-65 in Indiana gas was $3.95 on Friday Morning - at 1:00 in the afternoon the same stations were up to $4.59 - One Exxon Station was at $4.19 and had long lines.
We are now playing Gas Station roulette on a daily basis - thanks Brain Dead Biden!

Yes, that is the standard leftist response. They might try that. Give everyone emergency gas money. And I’m guessing that somebody - either the governor or the president - will try price controls.
None of this will work, of course. But it will make everyone feel good until the laws of economics kick in.
Holly molly, that’s a big jump. It’s been $3.97 here in Central Kentucky for about a week and that’s the price it was when I saw it yesterday about 6 pm.
If I’d read your post yesterday, I would’ve topped off before it went higher.
Democraps love their Big Oil money.
Maybe they can all get on that new high speed rail to the awaiting camps.
I'm on record predicting $20/gal...
Fighting escalating gas prices: California Gov. Gavin Newsom proposes $400 for households with one car and $800 with two cars. Other states suspend their gas tax.
Yeah, that ought to do it. And the voter here will buy it thinking it's "free money."
This is not a joke, in some places in California right now:
Don’t vote Democrat.
Never under estimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.
Barack Obama
The most honest thing he ever stated.
Here in the Inland Empire of L. A., we’ve had over $6.00 gas for over a month now and it’s Only MARCH!!! I hope every RAT in the USA goes down hard in ALL of these upcoming 2022 Congressional elections later this year.
Normally in SoCal at this time of year the gasoline prices are at their lowest. Not this year. They are at record highs.
When gas gets to $10.00, a lot of stations will have to buy new signage with an extra digit.
This will stimulate the economy. Thanks, Biden!
I stopped at a Speedway in Indy right at 465 & 70 - filled it up at $3.95 - as I got father north - the price keep going up. Pilot was $4.49 North of Indy on I-65.
Higher food, gas .. prices this summer.
One Mobil station in Reseda (San Fernando valley) has $6.48 today while other stations are below $6.
