View comments A 'depressed' Vladimir Putin is 'set to hold a nuclear evacuation drill' having 'moved his family to a 'secret underground city' with the Kremlin's doomsday plan, insider sources have claimed.

One source that previously said Putin is suffering from multiple and serious medical problems, and also claimed that Russian death toll in the Ukraine war was higher than even Kyiv's estimates with over 17,000 casualties in 23 days of fighting.

Putin 'often pours his anger out on those close to him,' the latest account said from the source - a Telegram channel supposedly linked to an ex-Kremlin intelligence insider who claims to retain close links to those in Putin's circle.

'He has no deep conversations with almost anyone, and limited contact even with his children - not only his [adult] daughters but also his [undisclosed] children with [Olympic gold medal winning gymnast, 38] Alina Kabaeva'.

The source said that Putin shocked his top generals recently by demanding nuclear drill be undertaken, increasing fears he is preparing for a nuclear conflict.

No, look up their civil defense program. It’s huge and serious. Lots of deep underground shelters. And get this, about a year ago they had a huge nationwide civil defense drill.

We had one way back when, but not anymore.

They built their metro stations to serve as shelters.

Forgot about those. I’d like a tour of the supplies left in the basement corners of our old big city Post Offices. It’d be like a trip to the Smithsonian.

‘Depressed’ Vladimir Putin is ‘set to hold a nuclear evacuation drill’ the Kremlin keeps him locked in bunker.

Putin often pours his anger out on those close to him.

Xi isn’t that far behind Putin in the logic game

Putin Xi Biden are the last people I would ever trust with anything.

Russia claims it has enough shelter space in the subway system for the entire population of Moscow—12 million people. As others have noted, the city’s subway system is much deeper, and more “hardened” than NYC or other U.S. cities. Additionally, Russia has made significant investments in larger/more survivable nuclear C2 facilities for leadership. They have two primary complexes, one in the northern Urals, the other in the southern portion of that mountain chain. While some of these facilities date back to the Cold War, there has been a noticeable uptick in spending/construction on leadership shelters since 2015.

Our plan is to get the Adderall Kid (or his designated successor) on Nightwatch and fight the nuclear battle from there. BTW, if you see Hunter Biden around the White House in the days ahead, take that as a sign that something may be in the offing (and I say that just partially in jest). Hunter knows where all the money/overseas accounts are, and preserving that will be priority #1 for POTUS and his grifter family

The absolutely designed their subways to be blast shelters. Not just Moscow , St.Petersburg and other major metros. It has always been soviet and now Russia’s policy that nuclear war is winnable. They have enough fallout shelter space in Moscow for every citizen. There is also a high speed rail completely underground to a bunker complex far outside the city to house 15,000 party elites for three years underground it’s an open secret. Check out this blast door that’s a 100psi door or more effectively it can take a near miss measured in hundreds of meters. Our leaders don’t even care enough to have anything but bunkers for themselves.

I get my information from across the globe, multiple foreign media outlets.

I don’t trust the lying scumbags masquerading as journalists here in the US.

And I certainly don’t trust unnamed sources divining what might be going on in someone’s head. Just report the facts; I can take it from there.

“Don’t fall for mass media propaganda—it will rot your brain.”

Our elderly 80 year old neighbor is infected with MSNBC propaganda. My son saw her today for the first time in months. She asked how he was and he proceeded to tell her about the new business he started and the next thing she said was, “Can you figure out how to drop a bomb on Putin”?

That’s great. They have deep shelters. Good for them. Will that defeat the new fused W-76 that will seal their grave from above? Or make life after the nukes fell on the rest of the city, livable? In the Cold War it was assumed several HUNDRED warheads would fall on Moscow,, alone.., and while it may be fewer today after the Cold War disarming, I really doubt it is any victory to have these shelters.

These precautions by the Russians/Soviets predate the Cold War even. Russia has been the center piece of two world wars, with the fighting fronts within dozens of miles of Moscow. Perhaps this makes Russians a little more psychologically ‘tough’ in some respects compared to the pampered average American who’s historical psychology has had two oceans and no invasion routes to worry about, but I really doubt the average Russians would be willing to do it all over again.

Yes, we’re gonna have a wingding
A summer smoker underground
It’s just a dugout that my dad built
In case the reds decide to push the button down
We’ve got provisions and lots of beer
The key word is survival on the new frontier

Let’s pretend that it’s the real thing
And stay together all night long
And when I really get to know you
We’ll open up the doors and climb into the dawn

“I really doubt it is any victory to have these shelters.”

It all depends on who gets to define “victory”.

The perfect is the enemy of the good, particularly when it comes to nuclear war.

More shelters are better than less.

A small number is better than zero.

The US is the guaranteed loser, regardless of how Russia fares.

That is called a strategic disadvantage.

I actually don’t disagree at all. I will say that IF they survive the precision nuclear strikes on their deep underground shelters, they will be emerging in a few weeks to their new Chinese/Indian/Brazilian/ overlords and it won’t be any better in the end for them. They will not rule the world.
